Look for a Defunctland Youtube video about Fastpasses. Very interesting and culminates in how Disney used the Pandemic shutdown to shift the Fastpass system to the new paid Genie service. Now we're paying for something we always had for free! It's the Disney (Chapek) way!

It's just unpleasant. Make the tickets cost more for all I care but making me pay for shit over and over and over again straight up just feels bad.

For those of you with an upcoming Disney World vacation, arriving on or after 01/01/2022:

Disney is ending their Magical Express transportation beginning in 2022. You'll no longer have a "free" ride from MCO to your Disney hotel.

You'll need to book a service like this one (or Mears), pay for an Uber/Lyft/taxi, or rent a car.

That's actually a good price now that the Magical Express is ending.

A lot of people will probably say that is better to rent a car or van, while convenient, parking fees are going to hit your wallet hard. So for most families that don't plant to leave Disney, this is an excellent option.

It sucks that they are ending Magical Express. It was very convenient and saved you a lot of money. At least for me the timing wasn't that bad as I just got into DVC and I don't have to worry about parking fees anymore.

I watched it over a few sessions while I did some time on the treadmill - very well done and informative.

And nobody buy Genie Plus please - I get why you do it if you have limited time, but we need to send Disney a message.

In Disney fandom circles, this guy is nicknamed Bob Paycheck…

Not at all a compliment.

Yes, it's one thing to raise prices. It's another thing all together to raise prices while simultaneously making your product worse by removing services, attractions and quality (and famously mistreating your workforce). They basically just forced out all of the imagineering department so it's not likely to get better soon.

I found it kind of funny that they brought back the Indy stunt show (minus some of the good things about it) and parking trams and we're supposed to somehow feel good that they're simply restoring things that already existed like they're something special.

Disney world just so expensive now. Just went in end of Sept, 2 adults and 1 kid at a budget disney hotel, 7 day park hopper and no meals or no flights included was $3,600. Food another $800-1,000 and only had 2 sit down dinners.

i was there with a plus 1 (adult) for 9 days. 9-day park hopper and stayed at all stars movie. that was about $3300. did not include food so that was extra ($12 for a hot dog).

this is why i stick with disney cruises. same disney magic, less crowd, personalized attention from your servers, entertainment and eat till you drop. for what i paid for that land trip, that could've been 2 inside staterooms for 6 people on a 4-night bahamian cruise.

No one has mentioned the absolute absurdity of the Star Wars hotel price. It's beyond the top of the line Floridian rooms. It's a hotel for the 1%
