Literally just the phone. Make sure it's charged and working though!

For AT&T, at least, this only works with a new line or new account. You can't just upgrade an existing line

I already did it for myself. Show them the linked deal I shared. It's on their website. I had to do that too, it will work. They initially quoted me the lower value but after showing them the advertisement they were able to get the increased value. Only works on Samsung phones though of course. The biggest issue I came up with was my local Best Buy didn't have any in stock and they HAVE to take your phone that day immediately to get the increased trade in value. But luckily I have a back up phone for the few days I will be waiting for the S21 Ultra to arrive.

You have to go into a Best Buy store to get the increased trade in credit. Online will not work. If you read my previous reply, I explained my situation.

I just checked, seems like this is true. Doesn't work on AT&T unless you get a new line. This works on TMobile, Verizon and Sprint.

If it's unlocked, how in the world would they know?

/edit/ just read OP's update... damn ATT why you so spicy?

FWIW, I switched from an S10+ -> S21 Ultra and have really enjoyed it. Albeit, I missed the mSD card, and I bought the 256gb variant. But, looking at my current device storage usage, I'm more than fine on space, and probably could have gotten away with the 128gb one.

I've also transitioned to copying all my photos/videos to the cloud, which took up an inordinate amount of space on my device.

So for AT&T users we could just have the unlocked phone shipped to home then upon receipt of the phone we could just call AT&T and cancel the new line with some excuse and basically just put our current sim into the new phone then?

Okay, this should work the same on the S21 (base) right? It is currently $499, and I have an old S7, which shows a value of $200 trade. Am I correct in thinking that I trade in my old phone, pay the stupid activation fee and walk out with an s21 for $299?
