Back on S10 they were giving 512GB away as a free upgrade.
Years later they're hard to come by. Chip shortage.
Is the s21 worth trading in a S10? Charging port has been broken for 2 years. Phone is starting to act "slow" and I have to keep it in medium powe savings to get through the day. I use the headphone jack and SD card though so there's that. I also did the GCam mod so the camera is awesome.

I tried doing the same for a pixel 6 but even after using my cricket sim first it said to network unlock use the received sim with it and try unlock from the app .Will try the Samsung phone tomorrow after upgrading the line whether it is really unlocked or will get locked for 40 days as per Tmobile terms.

with all the recent leaks on the S22 and only weeks away, some might regret getting the s21 now. Though the s21 ultra is fast after turned off or reduced animations. I've been using it for almost a year and will jump to the S22 Ultra in a few weeks.

I think this is an excellent deal if you've got a spare phone to trade in and bring the price down.
Samsung usually have excellent trade in values when the new phone comes out.
You can still be ahead after trade in this one for the S22.
Thank You.

How long would this deal regularly last? I have an S10e that I would love to trade in for a newer phone. I just need to figure out when I'd be able to physically go to a Best Buy. This trade in value is pretty great.

Point is when Samsung S22's come out next year.
Value of your trade in phone will be the same as today at Best Buy. So if you are planning to get S22's, may be better to trade in what you have right now for the lowest S21's model and pay less amount possible since trade in value for S 21's will be the same no matter S21's model you buy now neither basic or plus or ultra. You still get the highest trade in value for S22's next year.

I'd save your time for now - this didn't work with an S21 Ultra purchase. It was the unlocked version like the deal says, with activation on T-Mobile in-store. Trade in value came up at $325 just like the website says. We went to the very end when you have to pay and it did NOT reflect the promo value like it should have. We've done a couple of iPhone upgrades here so we know the trade in paper doesn't show promo value. The guy helping us at the mobile area was really nice at least, but a $275 difference isn't something even the manager could override. He tried.

I think someone posted the deal early before the trade in prices went live. Not surprising, but hopefully it'll be available soon. Just a heads up!

If it's unlocked, how in the world would they know?

/edit/ just read OP's update... damn ATT why you so spicy?

FWIW, I switched from an S10+ -> S21 Ultra and have really enjoyed it. Albeit, I missed the mSD card, and I bought the 256gb variant. But, looking at my current device storage usage, I'm more than fine on space, and probably could have gotten away with the 128gb one.

I've also transitioned to copying all my photos/videos to the cloud, which took up an inordinate amount of space on my device.
If you have lots of pictures to download online, get a Pixel OG on ebay for around $65. Transfer all your photos from whatever device to the OG Pixel, then enjoy unlimited free downloads.

Sucks for me, I use straight talk... My bro has at&t. Could I have him get the phone for me with his account? Without extending contract or anything like that?? Someone more experienced please explain.

Fyi Samsung prices are at MSRP, while carrier is subsidized even before trade-in credits since they make the money off of the service.

Do a holistic calculation.

I use prepaid so carrier pricing is never an option for me so I buy direct from Samsung, but if I wasn't on prepaid I'd definitely go the carrier option every time.

This is inaccurate for Samsung.com - s21 won't trade for same value as the ultra. It's the STORAGE that is the same value across the SAME model. So if you are planning to trade for s22, then it's best to deal with getting the lowest storage for this deal.
