I agree. I bought it last year on a similar deal from HomeDepot.
While I had my small car SLK32 on it, it failed. It does not come down as it has safety locks in place so that was the good part.
So, I call customer service and you would think that most people would be using this product on the weekends, right? Their customer service is closed on the weekends.

Monday comes in, I tell them that my car is stuck on it. They said they won't even talk to me unless I bring down my car first. I asked, how do I bring the car down when it is stuck, hence the reason for my call? They pretty much said to figure it out. They suggested jack stands and stuff. I thought that the idea was to consolidate the tools. I still have to keep the jack stands and other jacks?

Anyhow, after I get my car down, they concluded that the solenoid was bad. After 5 days I get my new solenoid, It all works for 3 minutes and then the new solenoid goes to smoke. Their excuse, oh it is made in China.

Lucky for me, I had bought it using my home depot credit card. After 6 months, I was able to return it to Homedepot with no questions asked. I do not see a value. YMMV.

I have these and I would not buy again.
One of mine was not made properly and it binds very bad on the way up and the way down. Dealing with their customer service was an absolute nightmare. Every interaction took several weeks for them to get back to me, and they refused to believe there was a defect in their product even after I took several videos of it binding and not latching or de-latching properly. I even identified exactly where things were welding wrong/offcenter and they still ignored it.
Eventually I just wrote it off as a loss and moved on, and these are way too expensive for that

Even if you get a good set, they arent as convenient as you think they are. By the time you get them all setup and aligned with your jack points, you could have just lifted the car with standard jack and jackstands. I consider these a luxury/convenience item for gearheads and ultimately they dont make much sense for that.

All of the glowing youtube reviews are paid / free product, so keep that in mind.

I put jackstands under all 4 corners when using my QuickJacks. Belt and suspenders.

I have a ford cmax where exactly would the lift points for this be located? There are only a few spots for a jack/jack stands on the outer edge of the car "rocker panel".

As a user of a 2 post lift (maxjax) I highly recommend the extra height version of this if money is not a problem. You can never have too much clearance underneath the car (if you are actually wrenching underneath the car).

I also don't understand not being able to roll under the vehicle from the side, seems like an inconvenience.

Wow - thanks for sharing this story. I was literally getting ready to pull the trigger but won't after reading about this. My old crappy Craftsman jacks need to be replaced so looks like I will need to keep looking...

I'm thinking to myself "wow this is cool" but then I realize this would get in the way for many of the rare jobs I need to get my car off all 4's. For example my Golf R's downpipe install required me to jack up the car as high as I could get it so i could swing the 3.5-foot pipe outward. There is no way you could do that job on this lift, the pipe would hit it before clearing.

Another example is a 2007 Honda Accord O2 sensor I recently did. Not being able to access the middle-bottom of the car from the side due to these being in the way sucks. You'd have to slide in from the back or front and use a helper to feed the cable up through the carpet holes.

It would be nice if they could make a 4-piece version of this that lets you simultaneously lift the car on all 4 jack points but allowing the side to be wide open for access.

Exact same happened to me. Customer service was zero help in ideas to get it down. Still have it, but use it a lot less than I could. I still don't trust it, not that I think it will fall on me, but that I'll have to go through getting it back down.

Wow, a lot of people with negative experiences.

I've had the opposite experience with my QJs. I've always hated having to jack up a car and place jack stands under it, so I bought the RhinoGear ramps. That worked alright for a while, but having to start the car, line up the ramps, and drive up them (very gently because they slide on concrete) was kind of annoying. Then I got a car that was too low to get up the ramps (stock height on the car), so I bought the QJs. No issues in the 2-3 years I've owned them (knock on wood). I hope I never have to deal with customer service as it seems like people on this thread have had a bad experience.

I like that I don't have to start the car, the car is level when raised (for fluid changes), and that it feels sturdier than jacks. They are heavy and somewhat cumbersome to move around, and unless you mount them to the wall they take up a lot of space.

Overall, I like them a lot and am happy about my purchase.

100% agree with everything said. I've had one for over two years, if I had it to do over again I would have spent the money on a two post lift.

Just in case anyone doesn't get the joke, please don't use cinder blocks.

They can have invisible cracks, and fail catastrophically. If one fails, odds are good that the shock will cause others to fail too, then the car is supported by your skull and some gravel ☠️

+1 Ok my air cylinder schrader valves don't hold air very well but according to QJ over time you don't need to them lower the frames when the tires touch the floor as the hydraulic cylinders wear in. I really like the ability to leave a car up for days if need be. One trick I learned the hard way is if you are having trouble attaching the hoses to the power unit push and hold the down button.

For cars etc whose lifting points are a bit longer use a 2x4 on top on the blocks.

I went through the same thought process on Black Friday. For the difference, I went with the older version.
If your clearance is 3" taller than the 3" min. lift height to start with. Another way to say it , if you have 6" clear to start with, then put 2 - 2" x 12" x 72" long on each side under the lifts, you will get the extra lift of 3".
This might add a total of about 40.00.

Solid cinder block under each tire or nothing. Works great whenever i needed to do transmission work. Plus leaves the sides of the car clear for me to slide in and out of. These look cumbersome and dangerous. What can i say. Maybe I'm still a little redneck. But i got 1000k in my pocket =)
