If you checkout through amazon and select the $30 annual basic ring subscription plan you won't have to pay tax. If you checkout on the Ring website or the Ring app you have to pay sales tax. This should work in most states. It's not a lot, but for you penny pinchers out there it's just a fun little loophole lol.
I know a lot of you took advantage of the ring video doorbell sales this past month and are probably nearing the end of your 30 day free trial so this little trick might come in handy.
Will not work with the Ring Protect Plus annual subscription. Ring Protect Basic Plan only.

Some states charge tax on memberships and subscriptions. Maybe your state isn't one of them. Do you pay tax on Costco membership or any other membership?
