That's funny because for me it was the other way around, I got the Lego Bugatti from Amazon and it showed up original Lego box with shipping labels slapped all over it and one stripe of shipping tape all around the box. Was quite annoyed considering the price.

Thanks for the heads up! Got one from Amazon. Almost price matched at Target but didn't want to risk them slapping a shipping label on the Lego box and sending it out that way.

did they do that to you before?
listings at target say "ships in original packaging". if that means they just ship the lego box with a label, then i am definitely not getting my lego from there.

I guess it depends on the person in shipping as from Walmart got one with a shipping label

I've never had it happen but when I saw that "ships in original packaging" notice, it got me worried, so I decided not to take a chance. Missed out on 5% off obviously but oh well.

That's awful. Walmart just sent me the classic Batmobile Lego in a plastic sleeve. No box, not even a padded envelope. From across the country. Of course when I opened it, the Lego box was crushed. Bastards.

I ordered the Lego AT-AT from target a few days ago and it delivered inside a cardboard box but still had a shipping label slapped on the back of it. I thought maybe I could peel it off without to much damage but I was dead wrong about that.

Last Christmas Target set me the older Hogwarts set, with the grey roof, in a just the LEGO box so smashed up I was amazed the pieces weren't cracked. It's the only time that happened.

At least at Amazon you can say it's a gift and get a box.

If a site says "ships in original packaging" it is a shitshow on what that means. It can be the box itself, or, if you are lucky and it's a bigger set, it could mean you get the box LEGO ships it in to retailers. For the life of me I don't know why LEGO doesn't do that more often, those boxes fir perfectly and saves cardboard.

Couldn't you just like order something with it and then they will be forced to put the Lego set with the other items inside a bigger box?

Use a blow dryer .... and alternate from low to high heat and then slowly start to peel the sticker(s) off. Hope that helps!

Lego sends the millennium falcon set in a separate cardboard box to the retailers, so buying from any retailer will be fine.
