They haven't been this price for a long time now, especially (and maybe never?) in this color (black). I've been following and this is a deal. $25 off the "on sale" price from other retailers. Very nice mic with lots of after-market options. Using mine with a shock mount, a foam pop-filter, and a silicone sleeve too.
It does not. I had a yeti for years, even with the gain down all the way it picked up my keyboard (blue keys). Also picks up a lot of background noise since it is a condenser mic. If you want better noise isolation you want to get a dynamic mic
with that said, this is still a solid deal for those looking. OP repped

is this what the streamers use ?
This is popular amongst streamers though most graduate to an XLR setup. Usb interface + XLR mic. If you have a sound treated room this will work fine, if you have a lot of background noise then probably not the best option

Yep this is exactly right. I would say that probably an even more popular option for mic is the Shure SM7B, it's considered the gold standard for streaming and podcasting, albeit a lot more expensive then the Yeti.
been looking at this mic for a while, it was often hovering around the $100 price tag. I almost pulled the trigger a few months ago but figured i didn't need it at the time. great price, thanks, repped!
Was also able to get same day delivery for free. IT added $2.50 to my order but to get this guy before christmas... yeet lmao

At $359 the Shure SM7B is almost 5 times as expensive as this one on sale. How much better is the Shute?
I assume this would be overkill for Zoom calls? My current mic isn't great.
I wouldn't say it's necessarily overkill. The biggest thing with any mic is to have it as close to your mouth as possible. When the mic is 3-6 inches from your mouth, it will sound much better than if you have it 2 feet away.
The best way to ensure you can get it close to your face is to buy a microphone arm. Oh, and talk into the side of this mic, not the top. And keep the mic pattern on cardioid.

SM7B is what I currently have and I think it's definitely worth it. But it definitely is a big investment. You may want to start with a more basic setup like a Behringer um2 USB interface and a behringer XM8500. This will run you with cables about $70-$80. It doesn't look as nice as the SM7B but it will introduce you on how to use a dynamic mic. Imo XM8500 sounds better than the yeti and provides better noise isolation

I would say check videos on audio recordings and how they sound, for people who literally work daily with it I'm sure it's been worth it for them but for most people the yeti probably works just fine. The yeti and the shure are different types of mic, so it depends on more on your usage style.

My current mic is just the built-in one on my webcam so I can't really move it closer to me.
