My family's 5, 6, 6T, Nord N10, and my own 7 Pro, 8 required daily reboots to maintain functionality and to stop stuttering + frame drops. And that's not mentioning how 2 of the N10's require 2+ seconds to register an action on the tap (I.E. I tap, the pointer shows that I've tapped, but the phone doesn't do anything until 2+ seconds later). This is on a clean install with no apps installed too. And my OnePlus 5 can no longer maintain a signal after updating to OOS 10 and beyond. Glad to hear your experience is way better than mine though.
I've had a OnePlus since the 3. I've had no issues with OnePlus phones until my 7t updated to Android 11. My battery life tanked and 2-3 times a week my screen crashes and goes back to 60hz. I have to toggle 60hz on and off to get it back to 90hz. That one's not that big of a deal. About once a week Adaptive Brightness bugs out and makes my screen so dark I can't see anything, and changing the brightness does nothing. I have to hard reset it to fix it. r/OnePlus is full of other users with these problems. OnePlus isn't the great company they used to be.

Almost pulled the trigger, until I read your post and verified...no wireliess charging, no thanks. Only the Pro version has it. Thanks and repped
If that's your only gripe, realize it has warp charging which is many times faster. My ultimate concern is the battery life with the ultra fast charging. See my other issues posted already though as I've used the phone for a year.

I'm considering this vs the Pixel 5a which is also now $399. I'm not a gamer and don't really use many power intensive apps. Just looking for a decent camera and battery life. Any thoughts? Thanks

I've heard some try with the 8 but no success story's. Good chance you'll like have to take the hit. Sucks cause I gave $250 for the 8 just to see it cheaper weeks later.
I actually benefitted last year. I bought from a third party source the 7T for $300 and just weeks later T-Mobile had an upgrade to the 8T that cost me nothing more (after 24 monthly credits). Will probably be upgrading again and going back to Samsung next December.

This is rightfully better than 7T. But 7T is better than 8.

I find that hard to BELIEVE that ALL OF THEM HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM.
He explicitly mentioned different problems for Nord, 8 and 5T. Didn't mention anything for 6/6T

I'm a oneplus user right from oneplus one, and have used 3, 6t and 8. They are all great, smooth, fast & still run well after all these years. They are well made and can take a beating too. Barring the slightly lacking camera, slightly limited android-auto capabilities and lack of wireless charging, they have not given me any chance to complain. Latest version 9pro seems to have fixed these, but has a high price point now.

At this price, I would highly recommend 8t

Just upgraded from the OnePlus 6T to the 8T for $499 at Best Buy. They will not price match OnePlus.

Best phone I've ever used. It charges from 10% to 100% in 30 minutes and battery lasts all day.

I returned a Google Pixel 6 256gb because wouldn't get me through a full day at work and took 3 hours to charge.

OnePlus is the best!

How's the camera? can you compare the pics taken with this Oneplus 8 to any other decent phones?
You can always install GCAM to help with picture quality.
