I'm using Mint. I have the 8 and was easy to unlock. I would imagine that the 8T would be the same

I used this to unlock it

Unlocking

WITH SIM CARD OUT and CONNECTED TO WIFI here's a good step by step.

Its settings -> wifi & network -> Sim&network -> At the bottom "network unlock". I requested permanent unlock,

It might take a couple of minutes or even fail. If it does fail just do it again until it works

I gave them my email address in return for a $30 voucher. Instead, they sent a 10% coupon for accessories. I feel a little duped.

Even the honey plug-in is not finding a successful coupon code. Anyone have ideas?

$200 more and you can grab a Google pixel 6
Why?

Out of all the smart phones my family has owned, ONE has had a swollen battery: a Pixel 4. I'll pass on more Pixels, especially considering this:

I recommending replacing the factory OxygenOS 11 with LineageOS right after you unboxed it if you are privacy conscious and really want to buy a phone from a company who's headquarters is in China which they are required to do (by a new law they've passed and practically at gunpoint) whatever the Chinese Communist Party mafia tells them to (including leveraging your phone as a platform to spy on dissidents) and have little to lose in the US. I'm not sure about the people here, but I certainly don't want to live at the mercy of the CCP's mafia.

Is the NSA Mafia better?

Good deal. My 8T has been mostly great, with some annoyances. The hardware is fantastic, the screen is vibrant & fast, and the Warp charging is a game changer for me.
My biggest issue so far has been with the power saving settings being overly aggressive and preventing texts from sending. After disabling those settings, it's been pretty great.

Just be aware that if you're buying this phone to use as a daily driver, OxygenOS 11 has been majorly buggy + slow. And OxygenOS 12 seems to be even worse, as they're merging ColorOS into OxygenOS but without fixing many of the issues on either skin + locking the software down even harder (like breaking the GCam mods that improve the camera). I'd recommend to unlock the bootloader and flash a custom ROM ASAP.
Been using it and havent had any bugs like everyone else. Smooth as butter and fluid due to 120Hz as well.

Very good phone, except the screen scratches easily. Definitely add a screen protector before daily use.

It comes with a screen protector preinstalled.

Had to remove it because it interferes with the fingerprint scanner.

Does this really worth the $150 over the 8 that came out the other day for $250? It's pretty much the same species just 256G vs 128G. I am thinking to wait for the 8 to come out again.
