Don't forget to update the Keyboard to Backlit Keyboard for free, under the configuration section.
Also, make sure you at least do the $15 upgrade to a Wi-Fi 6 Card. Even that Realtek one will be far superior to the crappy Wi-Fi 5 1x1 antenna.

It's cheaper if you have EPP. Shows $457.5 (instead of $499) for me

These are actually pretty good specs for a decent price. I didn't try to replicate it, but seems good. Try putting specs in your title like "i5, 512GB SSD, 16GB, IPS", etc, and you might get more hits

I got the asus vivobook F513 with i5 ftom OD. Battery life is a little less than i was hoping for. This looks like it would be about the same. The larger ssd in this is appealing.

4 screen options . anti glare for $60 and theres brightview for $70. ANy thoughts thanks
It depends if you want a glossy (brightview) or anti-glare screen. And if the 300 vs 250 nits is worth the premium. And finally, if touch screen is important.

Excellent deal. If I hadn't bought $320 HP or $430 Lenovo this BF, I'd jump on this today.

Afaik, the HP has the same screen as this one. It's not the best screen but ok.

No card reader (even though it shows in the pictures). Such a simple (and low cost) thing to add that's available on virtually every laptop these days, amazing HP decided to delete it from this model. Read specs (not included there) and also the reviews which mentioned it. Click "See all specs":

1 SuperSpeed USB Type-C® 10Gbps signaling rate (USB Power Delivery, DisplayPort™ 1.4, HP Sleep and Charge);
2 SuperSpeed USB Type-A 5Gbps signaling rate;
1 HDMI 2.0; 1 AC smart pin;
1 headphone/microphone combo [19]

fyi, this particular model does NOT have a SD card reader, despite the photos showing it. See reviews.

The "Advantage" of the upgrade, is you are likely getting a 'known' entity for the SSD that is at least good in many areas.

While it may not be as good as other high-end SSDs, there is a good chance that the standard SSD in the device is likely a bottom-tier NVME SSD. So most likely it will be an upgrade.

I would probably select the upgrade option.
If I was buying an SSD for use in a laptop, it would likely not be the one I do select, however...

It could be H10 instead of H20. Is it still an upgrade if it's H10?

Compensates for the slower SATA drive. Basically a buffer for the SSD. I'd personally avoid and get the NVME drive but in the real-world it wouldn't be very noticeable.

HP 512GB vs Dell 256 GB SSD
HP Core i5 1155G7 vs Dell 1135G7
HP has USB-C with Display Port 1.4 and power delivery. Dell doesn't seem to have it
HP has Windows 11 out of box
This HP does NOT have SD reader
