Doing that gives you a greater chance of your passport application getting rejected. I rather spend the 15 bucks to get it done by the post office.
Oh, I also used it to cross land border to Mexico.
Just keep a scanned photo of your passport info page on the cloud and show that to the state department.
Now the passport is on sale. Wow.

I didn't realize most post offices close at 1 and only a few closes at 4. The person who told me about this mailed his stuff today. I missed the post office by a few minutes so I have to take a chance and assume my friend is right.

I'm here in Chicago and had to drive around to 4 different post offices to find one that was still opened. Most closed at noon.
Fed Ex did my last passport photos. I can't remember the cost, but I don't remember it being outrageously expensive.
Plus they gave me a few extras… not quite sure what they're good for tho 😊 This is SD, so many great suggestions are sure to follow…
My fam has been doing passport photos by ourselves using the white wall as background and have never gotten rejection for passports or visas.
