Steps:

You don't need a VPN when you buy it. You need a VPN to load it into your Microsoft account. CDKeys will issue a warning about not being used in your region, but they don't care if you buy it.
After going into Account > Subscriptions, I was able to convert to "Xbox Game Pass Ultimate" for $14.99 and that is good for 3 years canceling the other subscriptions. Only cost me an extra $1.06 for the mistake. So for ~$122 I have Game Pass Ultimate for 3 years, not bad. Now if only I hadn't bought BF2042 already it would have already covered half of that.

Edit - I see 12 months live converts to 4 months GPU. So is the advice here to buy now and sit in the codes till GPU expires? Is that safe?
