1. What's the EBB Program?
The Emergency Broadband Benefit (EBB) is a government program facilitated through the FCC to help families and households struggling to afford phone and/or internet service due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Depending on the carrier or ISP, you may be entitled to free or discounted recurring charges. Households interested should familiarize themselves with the program, and upcoming changes [getemergencybroadband.org] (beginning 12/31/21) by visiting the FCC's official EBB program page [fcc.gov].

2. What's in the deal?
If you qualify, you get unlimited talk & text + 35GB of data for free. There is no credit card
required, though you do need to submit proof of eligibility. You can select the BYOD option or purchase a new smartphone at a discounted price.
You must activate your plan by 12/31/2021 in order to take advantage of this 35GB deal until March. In March, the free data allotment will drop to 7GB of 5G/4G data + unlimited data 3G speeds (512kbps). You will be automatically switched to this free plan.

3. What if I activate after 12/31/2021?
You can still receive the 100% free service, though the free data allotment will be 7GB of 5G/4G data + unlimited data at 3G speeds (512kbps)
Other alternatives do your research
4. How do I know if I qualify?
A household is eligible if a member of the household meets one of the criteria below:
● Experienced a substantial loss of income due to job loss or furlough since February 29,
2020 and the household had a total income in 2020 at or below $99,000 for single filers
and $198,000 for joint filers;
● Participates in certain assistance programs, such as SNAP, Medicaid, or Lifeline;
● Has an income that is at or below 135% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines
● Approved to receive benefits under the free and reduced-price school lunch program or
the school breakfast program, including through the USDA Community Eligibility
Provision in the 2019-2020, 2020-2021, or 2021-2022 school year;
● Received a Federal Pell Grant during the current award year;
● Meets the eligibility criteria for a participating provider's existing low-income or
COVID-19 program.

5. How do I submit proof of my eligibility?
At the end of the application, you'll be directed to the National Verifier. Here you will submit
your proof of eligibility. This step must be completed in order to qualify.

6. What network does this work on?
This deal works on Boost Mobile's expanded data network.

7. Is my phone compatible with Boost?
Most popular, unlocked GSM phones can be activated on our network. You can visit
https://my.boostmobile.com/learn-more to check your device's compatibility.

8. Is this only for existing Boost Mobile customers?

No, this offer is for anyone who qualifies.

9. Will I ever get charged for this service?
No. There is never any payment from the customer to Boost Mobile for EBBP. Customers for EBBP never even provide a credit card so therefore a charge will never occur.

I received confirmation of approval on 12/25. Today I logged in (via https://public.boost.emerios.com/...ml#!/login [emerios.com]) to double check my status and noticed that I was rejected 12/30; no reason is given. What gives?

As an aside, the confirmation email I received on 12/25 instructed me to purchase a SIM card.
Same here, got rejected 12/30 with no reason is given.

They will NOT ship you a sim card for free. I paid $10 thinking I'll get that back from Boost but NO... Their website does not take the approval code when you order the sim card. When I messaged them about this they just said "they'll look into it" and that was it. When I asked about getting a refund below is what they told me. They gotta be kidding me right?
Their service is really really bad and if you are qualified I'd go with other providers.

You should be able to get a refund by reaching out to whomever you bought it from.

That's not good then & straight BS from Boost CS if true. I'll remove it from the OP until it gets verified..

Hi,

You should not be paying for a SIM card. After enrollment and qualification a SIM card will be sent to the address you have provided through the national verifier.

This SIM card should arrive 5-7 days after qualification and enrollment in the Boost Mobile EBB Programs.

*You DO NOT need to pay for a SIM card, one is shipped to you for FREE.*

Just adding info here.

I went back to the email from Boost saying the application was 'qualified' and accepted.

The email said in the first step to go to the boost online site and get a SIM. The link was the normal activation page that said to buy a SIM either online or in-store. The promo code for the EBB plan did not change the $10 charge.

Unless there is a hidden promo code for a free EBB SIM, the cost is $10.

Yes, Boost uses T-Mobile; it used to be on Sprint's network until Sprint merged with T-Mobile.

I hope this helps,
Tofu Vic
I think Boost is trying to migrate all customers from TMO network to AT&T network (deal they signed for $5 billion with ATT). This is why Sprint CDMA shutdown on Jan 1st. was pushed back to March, to give Boost more time to do so.

In any case I just got my 99 cent Boost sim and 2GB for 30 days deal in, and it's on ATT. And the number indexes as on ATT network as well.

So, one of my friends also signed up for this program with Boost today. It is now only 7GB plan.

Sure enough, $10 SIM charge and $10 activation charge.

The rep refused to budge on any account credit saying the monthly service is the only thing that is free.

Don't believe any of the lies the Boost reps are giving here… you must pay $20 to get setup and running and there is no free device offer .

Boost was paid by govt to provide free phones. They sure didn't mind handing out them to their other customers!
And their customers that are going to be getting the affordable connectivity program is going to give them more money than the rest of their people that just come by pick up one of their phones and then ends up selling it!

I asked them if they want me to come to go to work with them from remotely and they wouldn't give me the time of day but I know enough marketing skills in just a service technician job base from a corporate company to help them out immensely and they just want to look over me and keep on stepping the way they think they can go. I welcome them to keep on trying to make the ship sell without cloth that is already torn.

Does anyone know the income requirements for EBB? My mom lives off her SS and it's a little under 1400 a month.

How about for a non-married person making under 40k a year? What do they consider EBB?

None of us are on food stamps or anything

I have a health issue and resigned from my job in April with doctors not explaining my situation, I was on UE for a while before I got back to work this year... can I get this?
Is your health issue temporary in your back to work now? If not, and you have his own social security disability I could see that you would qualify if you don't share expenses and you're at home with your parents you qualify as a separate household because they're not paying your way.
Sorry for getting back with you so long but it's cut off day for them to sign people up for lifeline and the ebb was cut out yesterday I believe. As far as if you qualify by income if you made less last year than you did this year you could qualify maybe that way and see if they would allow you to pass through but it differs in different states but 200% below poverty is an average of just a little bit over 17K, income for the year.

This is national verifier place that allows you to check if you qualify for the service before choosing a provider like this one here of being boost or SafeLink or assurance Wireless. The last two are better and SafeLink will let you buy your own phone if you don't like the one they provide you.
You'll have to do a search on there sites.

https://www.safelinkwireless.com/...#!/newHome

https://www.assurancewireless.com/

I went ahead and provided above the links for SafeLink is first and assurance is last. Assurance will only give you one type of phone to use and is more geared toward older populations. If you know of a relative or friend that has issues with their hands of holding things in their hands are numb the assurance Wireless phone is better for them because it has big buttons for them to press on the side and the phone that has a good grip on the back side to keep it from slipping from their hands as much.

I have sickle cell which could be fatal combined with covid so I took care of it with a doctors note to watch my health.

I am back to work now, I live a modest life however...

I make too much for food stamps and I got hired a few months back ago but I was on food stamps for a while due to the inability to work, I am better now.

Where's the love from Boost Mobile CS rep? Seems like you all wanted that push to get everybody in before the ebb close down his doors right? Tell us our deals on the up and coming ACP affordable connectivity program? The question I want to know is do you all have a plan for lifeline only? The reason I ask is when the ebb was going on you could get both benefits so you would have internet on the ebb and lifeline side you would have your telephone and texting! So I need you Boost Mobile to come in here and tell me what is going on with that and how I can apply for it because I want to get my lifeline first and then get my ACP when it comes time.
