Main vacuum we use was a Hoover Lynx (until the motor died), which was replaced under warranty w/ the Hoover ONEPWR.
Obviously the Hoover is better on carpet, however the Shark works better on hardwood, and especially against the walls/corners. Since the suction opening is right at the front it ends up picking up stuff the Hoover leaves behind.
Mopping is good enough - the included spray is great on engineered hardwood, LVP, Bamboo, and laminate.

Out of stock online.
You either gotta sweep before you mop, or vacuum before you spray the solution. Seems simple, but just to much for a swiffer.
It was recommended to us, and we recommend it to you. I don't think we'd be interested in the vac/mop with disposable pads. It sounds like a poor compromise that needs supplies that have to be replenished. We have a Shark Lift-away vacuum which works incredibly well. I got that refurbished, and paid about $55 all-in (thanks to SD).

The idea behind the product is that when mopping or using wet swiffer on tile flooring, all of the cleaning liquid mixed with the dirt just sinks into the tile grout, giving tile grout the filthy grid appearance. So what you do is use this vacmop to not only suck up the filthy liquid off the floor, but mop at the same time. This vacmop is a preventative so you don't need to deal with dirty tile grout as much (or maybe even at all).
If you've ever had professional tile grout cleaning, you may notice this is effectively the process they use.

For steam to kill harmful bacteria it must be applied to one spot for a certain period of time based on the temperature of the steam. Most product manuals will tell you how long that amount of time is – usually 8-20 seconds. To use the mop to sanitize will require that you mop much more slowly than normal and some steam mops won't do it in any amount of reasonable time because they don't reach the right temperature.

As far as steam sanitizing, as soon as 135F hits an area, any viruses in contact are dead. I would say a few seconds is enough. Specially if you are using a cleaning fluid like vinegar or some disinfectant. I am talking about daily use build up of some drips of liquids, or foot traffic from outside, etc. not a mess you spill or such, which I think they consider in their tests.
