This one requires the head unit to be android. I bought 5 of the ones for OEM CarPlay or Android Auto (not android system) and they work great. Even getting better sound quality on calls than hardwired CarPlay!

As well as a sim slot supporting LTE cellular radio for mobile data. Pretty much what this does is turn your OEM CarPlay radio into an android tablet.

Thanks- that's what everything else on the web seemed to say it does, plus that's what the third Bullet in the product description says: "2021 New CarPlay AI box is only for cars with OEM wired CarPlay". Seems really useful for a lot of people at a great price. I've got an aftermarket wireless CarPlay deck so not for me, but I'm glad this type of device exists.

I was in for one that I received today. Sadly, the unit doesn't connect to my in dash Carplay. Hopefully CS is responsive.
