Does this have the flickering issue that the A8H has when using with ATV4k ? Thinking about returning my 65" A8H just because the flickering/ raised black levels when using my Apple TV are driving me bonkers. The newest Apple TV 4K is supposed to improve the issue but not completely fix it.

Why so thin? I just think this is way too easy to break during a move.

New: 2800 on BF for veterans (price was around 2899-3000 across most of the retailers for non-vets)
Used: Best price available in mid-November was 2,000 (source: camel camel camel)

I bought the Sony OLED from Costco and returned it for the LG C1 FWIW. I like having 4x HDMI 2.1 and I like the gaming features. Also the LG C1 seems brighter in my house. I can't tell the difference otherwise. The only thing I liked better about Sony was the stand.

I have 2 65" A80Js. Fantastic TV, no flickering issues, great sound compared to other TVs and most of the picture and motion settings are great out-of-the-box.

The only issue I had so far is that due to the latest update, the TV turns itself on sometimes and randomly. I applied all the recommended fixings from Sony yesterday, and so far no issues at all. Will keep monitoring because it is annoying. However, I've heard that you can call Sony Tech support and they tweak it and try to fix your TV by connecting remotely to it. That's my option of last resort if the recommended fixings don't work.

Edit 1: Bear in mind that TV sound is great when compared to other TV sound systems. However, it would never replace a soundbar or any other external speaker system that you want to connect. In short, the sound is good, but is not soundbar or external speakers quality

I'm not a gamer; I chose the Sony over LG because I like the Google TV interface better, as well as the easy to set up snap in legs. I also believe the Sony XR signal treatment is a better design, both use the same LG panel just different electronics. I also frequently use the TV stand alone, and the sound using the panel as a speaker is better than any flat panel I have heard.

Sony used Android TV
LG uses WebOS

Panel is sourced from LG on both TVs. Identical panels.
LG has some "nice to have" gaming features. Sony, notoriously haphazard with updates, may or may not have these features. Sony should, on paper, have a better graphics processor for upscaling and similar.

Sony needs to partner up with NVIDIA. No Gsync, no go period.
