Gotta love fishing posts!! As temping as this is... I'm going to have to pass... Both my older cheap diawa combo reels were the first to be trashed... I'm sure its fine for an emergency backup, or starter reel or something, but gotta pass. Not to mention I have 16 combo's now... I think I had 4 at the start of Covid... ;o)

In for 3 for my crappie rods. I don't expect the fish to pull drag too much (if at all) and its jigging so minimal retrieving. The 1 ball bearing ought to be fine. I've had some other very affordable Daiwa 2500 reels that have done just fine pulling in fish up to 3-4 lbs. Sure they will squeak after a couple of years but at $13 after shipping I am OK with that. Also its nice to be able to relax if someone else is using your gear. Fingers crossed.
These reels are fine for the average "once a year" user. They will get the job done, but for those who are "every weekend warriors" this isn't gonna last an outing or two. Cheap doesn't mean good...better to buy one that lasts for a long time than 10 of these and replace them after each use...

A bit big for ice fishing. If was a 2000 i probably would have scooped a couple.
Looks like they're normally $14.98 via OPs post
