I bought the elite last week. Call me weak but this thing hits you like a hammer. I am going to return it
Try it slowly first with big muscle like your quad, triceps. Be sure to use the soft attachment. Also some muscles might hurt if you're tensed up. My calf muscle hurt when I first tried last week. I didn't realize I was "bracing myself for impact" like natural respond. Better to start slowly to get used to with high frequency vibration.
This is one of those products where you can buy a similar performing one on Amazon that has almost the same performance for like, 70% the cost.
It's like the red light panel craze, you can find the manufacturer on Alibaba who makes all the panels with different outer shells and you realize you can just buy 3rd party or direct for a fraction of the price. You've got a heavily marketed social media device that was sent out to influencers for free.
It's just an instagram product jacked up to be "high end" by marketing.

Buy a cheap one on Amazon, you'll be fine.

How is this particular brand better than others that are a third of this price?
Having owned and gifted many of the cheaper ones, as well as owning an actual Theragun - here are some thoughts:
Cheaper guns don't 'penetrate' as much, meaning they are more vibration than depth.
Theraguns have much more power, in that it takes a lot of effort to stall it
Theraguns have more accessories available to them. My fav being the double-ball for calf muscles
Theraguns, at least all except the mini can connect via Bluetooth for customized guides
That said, for the average Joe, the cheaper guns are fine. But if you're actually looking to improve recovery after working out, sports, it may be worthwhile to go with with the Theragun. Even the Mini (often found for <$150) is potent, but doesn't have changeable heads.

I bought a cheap one from Costco $80 and it just vibrated.,not very effective. I have tried a theragun from a friend and it was very effective. I am afraid of buying some cheaper one and find out it just vibrates. Reviews are all misleading. Anyone know of a reasonably priced one that has a good amplitude and force.
Deal looks dead... However, on therabody.com, you can get the price down for the prime massager gun at roughly $299 to $239 with promo code "PSIA-7289"
