It's a good calibrated monitor, supports 96W power delivery over USB-C (one of the highest allowed in monitors) and this is the reason why it costs a little more. Plug everything to the monitor and just hook up your laptops' USB-C. Good for those who want to reduce cable clutter.

Weirdly enough, the stand and port drive the price up significantly - but to be fair, they are great features. The stand separately would cost ~$100 as well.

I'd think of it as an all-in-one purchase, rather than a value purchase.

Just curious, is this the same monitor like the one that was going for $199 with just a fancy stand and usb c port?

Does the 4k version of this monitor have double the amount of pixels? So if I'm using the 4k in 2k mode then it should still be more detail?

The whole usb-c hub aspect is bust when you discover that you can't have USB3 and display signals simultaneously, so the things plugged into your display operate at usb2 speeds unless you sprung for a Thunderbolt Display

how is this monitor for Eye strain? Staring at monitor for long hours looking for one that is good on eyes.

Lg's site as specs like antiglare and flicker free, is that enough?

Would be ~2x in that you get 1.5x the pixels vertically and horizontally.

Yes text should be crisper even at same size if you have more resolution to round it out. 4K at 150% vs 1440 at 100%. Some exceptions exist for some text if you have some scaling issue going on for specific text, but higher resolution = crisper text generally. Just look at rtings, all their highest text clarity rankings go to their highest pixel density monitors, and all the 4K 27/32 monitors generally get the highest scores, VA or IPS.
