They do make a 4x4 corner version which I used to make my reloading bench. I've built a couple of benches with these and they are sturdy and easy to assemble.
HD sells these blocks for gardening, just cut some 2x6s and lay them in. You don't even need screws. You can even ask the associate in HD to cut the lumber for you and take them home in your Mini-cooper.

The hard part is to figure out how to stop the critters from eating all your plants. For my garden bed, I had to build a big enclosure with chicken wire on all sides (even the top). Some people will point out that chemicals from pressure-treated lumber are bad for you. If that's a concern, use cedar or line the PT wood with thick food-grade plastic sheets.
I didn't see it a month ago so thanks OP.

Not sure where the OP photo came from, but I did not see it on the prior listing, nor at Lowes website. I have never used these and curious what they looked like loose that answered a question I had. They will not work with 4x4 corners that I have a stack of same in redwood.

Thanks, I will look for them. Although an advocate of joinery, some of the creations made with these are cool as both structural and visual accents. I was thinking about making some garden carts out of the redwood I have left and powder coating these and the screws. The black looks good, but maybe even a gold or silver.

These look great for building heavy duty shelving. Too bad 2x4 pricing is still so bad.

I really like the 2x4 basics kit for workbench as the legs come with and do well in a garage (wet floors) vs having to buy a mix of treated/untreated for this setup

2x4s are cheap as hell again. Not pre covid price...but they're down a lot from a year ago.

Would these work well for raised bed gardens (exterior, obviously)? Any other/better products for that?

How often do these go on sale at this price point? I would love one, but I just have so many projects I don't have room to work on them all

I'm not familiar with the "basics" kit, do you have a link?

$6.50 for 92" 2x4s at my local Home Depot in Northeast Ohio. Used to be less than $2.

Less than $2? Definitely not a year ago. They were $5 here in NC pre-covid.
