I use these to locate shorts on circuit boards. They make short work of it, pun intended.

Checking for cold/hot spots in your home to see if the insulation is doing the job. That or ghost adventures.

Thanks for posting. Would be a killer deal if it was USB-C, but I do see that they are including a USB-C adapter with it. Would be cumbersome to use though...

What's the average use case for something like this?
To rat out your co-workers that are lying about their Covid status. Find out peoples' ATM PIN (I KID I KID!!)

Joking aside, I used it to find out where an annoying possum was hiding in my attic. I also used it to see the heating element in my vehicles to see if the element was heating correctly. My favorite use has to be seeing where I need to work on the insulation in my house. Owens Corning makes an app that works with the device.

I use this with the USB-C adapter that came in the box, and attach it to my Samsung Note 20 Ultra, and it works well. The connection is nice and firm, and I don't have to worry about it bending or falling off.

Anyone ever replaced a battery on one of these. I bately used mine once..put it in a drawer...it was dead when I tried to use it again and out of the warranty period.

So ur basically renting these for a couple of years and when they go dead, theyre done?

Multiple people here mentioned you have to charge this once a week or something or the battery will die(?) And sounds like even if you charge it often, the battery will still die after couple years?

It would be good if there is similar device that work as well as this (good app/device compatibility with various smartphone) that don't have to deal with rechargeable battery issue (like install battery when needed to use it, etc). Or standalone device (install battery when needed to) that don't need smartphone but at reasonable price, etc.

What is crap is the old Micro USB model is not compatible with USB C at all, even with adapter. Obviously it is a firmware update they didn't want to do.
What's your source for this nonsense? They include a USB-C adapter and multiple people here claim it works as expected.

Website stated it comes with an adapter
Yes I saw it. Just thinking using a C -> micro converter will have poor sturdiness. A flexible connection will be more reliable?

Lol I figured. But unless it's been recently fired to create heat, it will not expose a gat.
