Does this have the same track pad issue as the rest of the Thinkbook 13s series?

Definitely prefer a 4k, but it's still a great screen and a 0.58" Thinkpad with 16GB and new i5 is pretty awesome at the $600 price point.

MOST electronics nowadays are plastic, it used to be that mid & upper-tier products were metal and only the cheap ones were made out of plastic.

Numerous reports of it freezing every now and then.
Another issue reported is the loud fan noise.

Would the Thunderbolt 4 port be compatible with eGPU enclosure? Debating if this would make a decent system for that purpose.

I have an old Thinkbook 14s. 2 years old. It's been pretty bad since I first bought it - hardware lockups when playing games or video calling and a defective power button/fingerprint reader. Huge buyer's remorse, should have returned it instead of trusting they would fix it with warranty - they haven't.

Sometimes I spend 10 seconds finagling with the power button to get it on. And this is after sending it in for service and having them replace it.

Hardware lockups never show up during diagnosis so they refuse to do anything about it. I've reformatted 7-8 times and the issue shows up both in Windows 10 and 11. I do IT so I know about diagnosing issues like that. I also have like 10 computers in the house - none of them lock up like this one.

Really frustrated with their inability to let me have reliable working laptop.

Wasn't there a QHD laptop with similar specs to this at Costco, but with ~450nits?

From experience, what's the minimum nits you need to be able to use a laptop outdoors on a sunny day, for basic use, e.g. Word, Excel, email, web, etc.?

Depends on the nits as well as the type of screen.
A 300nits (minimum) matte panel would be usable outside. But for a glossy or glary panel, you'd probably need a 400nits screen at least.
