Especially as COVID persists endemically I'd steer clear and gladly pay normal admission or for an annual pass over putting up with this
Thumbs up for the National Parks, America's Best Idea.
I bet the parks are miserably busy these days, especially the big ones.

I think that is probably why so many parks are moving towards a timed entry system.

They are on all days anymore, with many requiring reservations. These days are a joke. "Free" day at a national park that you fund is another joke.

Also if you have a fourth grader in your family - you get a free entry pass for entire school year.

Annual passes for most of the bigger parks (Yosemite, Yellowstone, etc.) are $70. A day pass is typically around $35. The average taxpayer contribution, annually, is less than $5.

Hard to argue this post. Considering it is free and doesn't require your all your information to redeem.

Bet more people will go missing on those free days. Read "missing 411" book or youtube it and you'll understand.
