These were $99 last year during Black Friday. Great set of headphones. Very comfortable, good soundstage, emphasis on bass but not muddy.

Just dropping in to note with EQ these are perfectly acceptable headphones…and pretty good for the price. They are notoriously great for people with large heads, so if you are looking for something to wear while gaming, a good choice for comfort factor. I've seen them for less than $120 on Amazon, but not often. So, anyone in the market right now, I'd say jump.

I really wanted to like these headphones but I just couldn't justify it over the Philips SHP9500. I was hoping these would be an upgrade but after testing them side by side there just wasn't enough difference to justify paying more. I had a couple other people do the same test and they all could not tell much of a difference either.

They are super comfortable and great sounding headphones though, just not worth the upgrade if you already have the SHP9500 IMO.

EDIT: I corrected it from SHP6500 to SHP9500. Woops.

I have both and unless you're a basshead, the 58x that goes on sale regularly for the same price are much better.

I have both. The X2HRs are a slight but discernible improvement over the SHP6500s in sound quality, and they're tuned to have more bass. Whether that's worth the jump in price depends on the prices and on you. I will also say that the X2HRs have an adjustable top band and a bit more clamping power, and so they will fit on more heads, while the SHP6500s will only fit well on a larger head.

These are pretty bulky and can get heavy during extended use. You also won't find sound quality like this in this price range.

I use the x2hr for gaming and work meetings. Highs and mids are clear and the bass is not overpowering.

These are also open back, so they will leak sound.

Maybe I have a smaller head, but they tend to hang down to my chin which really annoys the hell out of me. So I just raise them up a little bit each time I use invite putting on a sock on my head to raise these half an inch. Now they no longer bother me.

These do have a self adjusting headband, you'd have to have a pretty small head for the headband not to engage or your headband is defective.

I should have posted SHP9500. That's what I have. As for the SHP9600, I can't say. I doubt there's much of a difference between the two beyond the cosmetic.

These makes for incredible gaming headset if paired with something like the v-moda boom mic.

I really like mine. Sound great and comfortable to wear for long gaming sessions. Only nitpick complaint is that the material on the ear pads attracts dust; have to lint roll from time to time to keep them clean looking.

Edit: Also important to note that the cord is detachable; I sometimes use a separate microphone boom attachment to turn these headphones into a headset.
