Most of the complaints in the Costco reviews seemed to be minor technical issues so hopefully I can work around them.

This is my first experience with eARC but I felt it translates well to my new Hisense 4k TV purchased in Nov. Was easy to setup, barely an inconvenience but the setup manual was awful so hopefully no one actually has to use it, but the setup is fairly self-explanatory.
One of the biggest questions is if the rear speakers are actually wireless, to which the answer is no. That said, They connect to a wireless box that can be placed anywhere in the room and is separate from the wireless subwoofer placement, which gives it a lot of versatility.
The rear speakers for their size are actually pretty good and the dialog from the front channels is clear. However, best results are with DTS selected vs the other audio modes. Navigating and getting things setup properly can take some time and the remote could stand to have a manual with it (available online of course).
The bass, however, is a little flat. The subwoofer has some boost options but I also found them inadequate for my tastes. Of course I'm coming from a much larger sub on my more conventional 7.1 setup so I may be spoiled.
I do not have a 4k source to test passthrough or not.
Overall I'm pleased to get good surround at this price point and it works for my setup but I can't see paying list price for it.
