It's decent for SATA

I have 2.5" bays in my computer and no more nvme slots. You barely notice the difference real world launching things from nvme vs SATA, it's mostly for benchmarks. There are loads of blind youtube tests confirming this.

LOL, so I can get 120MB/s and 10ms latency over 1GbE vs 450MB/s and 0.1ms latency over SATA III?

The purpose is all those computers that don't have NVMe slots. If you have one do use it.

Options i can think of ATM:
retire little ones and get one big one
delete all the precious junk you have there
off load the junk to a cloud storage

the feel better option - buy MORE drives at stick them into NAS

IDK if it matters but the mx500 has 5yr warenty this is 3.. so tempting, and if it was amazon I probably would but like the others are saying the nvme if what to get these days..
