I guess they did not shill these cur tins enough the other day. Over-the-op comments like this by the low volume poster are such a turn off. These are not where near 'blackout' curtains. I moved my current curtains to the inner rod to replace the sham and added these to the room rod. Still plenty of light gets though both sets of curtains. Also, they claim these in insulated, layered and lined, but they are not. The fabric is heat pressed on one side to melt the nylon smooth, but is the same color and does not appear to be a new layer just one side of the fabric is treated/pressed smooth.

If you want dark every day, like working nights for awhile, nothing beats covering the glass. I preferred household tint on the window, tape a good quality thick piece of plastic sheeting over that, then keep your normal blinds or curtains. No light, and looks normal from outside vs some ghetto looking foil or cardboard window.
Don't want semi permanent darkness like that…then you gotta pay a pretty good amount for curtains. Any cheap blackout curtains I've ever seen don't cut it. Seems like with cheaper ones, blackout = anything that isn't sheer.
