Most people will end up regretting buying anything that does not use brushless motors. Brushed motors fail very very easily and even for a casual homeowner, I cannot stress enough that you should avoid brushed motors and always always always buy brushless tools. If you do not buy brushless tools, the odds are very high that you will regret it. The brushes will burn and fail right in the middle of a job. At that point, you will be forced either to pay full retail for another tool to finish the job or your job is going to sit incomplete until such time as you find one on sale. This is just an opinion, but I have built dozens of homes and dozens of restaurants, nail salons, convenient stores, etc. I also happen to have gotten into that industry after remodeling my entire home by myself, learning along the way. As your Internet friend who has nothing to gain by you purchasing a brushless tool set instead, with nothing but truth and caring for the random people out there, I say that you should avoid this set of tools just for the sake of saving 100 bucks.

Hart shills on SD... never! Comparing hart to Dewalt or makita is pretty hilarious. Hart is objectively slightly worse than ryobi's brushed line of tools which is the worst line of tools at home depot. That being said this is a pretty good value at 99 bucks for a homeowner.

My Milwaukee hole shot drill is brushed and works well after 29 years. What in the world did people do before brushless came along?

I was able to grab the Craftsman 20V drill and impact brush-less set for $60.00. Are the Craftsman's that much better then the Hart's???
Assuming you mean the new V20 Craftsman line - as someone who actually owns both lines - Hart is the better product in each class. That last part is important.

That is to say, Craftsman brushless (that you say you bought) is better than Hart brushed.

Hart brushless is better than Craftsman Brushless on paper (specs). In practice, both work fine.

Craftsman brushed are garbage that shouldn't even have been produced. The drill wobbles, the circular saw you have to pry on to get a blade on, and they are all out of square. Thought it was just mine, then I read the reviews. I returned that garbage, but I've been pleased enough with the brushless line.

Hart sucked me in with the gallon sprayer deal, then the angle grinder deal, now this.

After having Milwaukee, Craftsman, and DeWalt, I find these to be decent quality. Especially for the home user.

You'll get laughed all the way home from a jobsite, but these will do great for 90% of the folks that frequent these pages.

I bought this for $99 and the 6 piece kit for $125.

I'll sell about $250 of the things I need the least (starting with the 4 drivers, 1 recip saw, 2 chargers) and keep everything else for free.

Hart seems about equal to Ryobi in my personal experience.

But personally I've been snapping up Ridgid deals lately. The quality seems more akin to Dewalt or Milwaukee (with similar retail pricing) but the stuff seems to go on sale frequently.

Ridgid also offers a Lifetime Service Agreement on all their power tools. This covers the batteries too. The LSA requires registration and proof of purchase so it only works on tools purchased directly from Home Depot or Direct Tools Outlet.

Watch those Hart battery toy chargers and be extra careful with the teeny tiny puny cable. Whoever designed those never worked with power tools.

Did a brushed power tool kick your puppy or something?

I've had Ryobi for years, brushed and brushless. Never failed me yet. My corded Bosch, Dewalt tools that I kept for when Ryobi was not up to the task are still sitting in the closet, waiting in vain for the Ryobis to fail.
