I love how accurate the air tags are but there are some functions that are missing that wont make me switch to them just yet. Bought 1 couple months ago and compared to the tile it is more accurate and responsive. Somethings I wish they would improve on would be a little louder speaker because i tested them while inside a bag and had to be within 3 feet to hear it. Another function would be the ability to ring your phone with the Air tags. Last function would be to share the air tag with family member on the same family account. With Tile I can ring my wife's tile when I need to find something of hers.

Waste of money & doesnt work if you dont have a phone. I used to use Tile which is the same and has the same issue, but recently discovered Pebblebee Found 2.0 device. Works without the need for a phone and am amazed how well. Go to pebblebee.com to buy - a bit expensive, but worth it!!
Pretty sure the target market of these devices have a phone

Search for "Tracker Detect" in Playstore. Though I have a Pixel 6 Pro with UWB, it does not work for me to find ATs. My iPhone finds the AT every time.
This does not work in the background as a security app. It has to be actively scanning. Worthless to detect bad guys trying to steal your stuff.

[rant] I know Apple has their own walled ecosystem, but with something like this... it just makes so much sense to support Android phones also [/rant]

What do you think of it so far for that use?
I bought one for one of my dogs who is deaf, wanted something since we couldn't call out to him if he ever got away from us.
My daughter put it in "list mode" while I took him out for a walk, and all it told her was that it's nearby and was unable to pin down a more specific general location because of the movement.

Do you need iPhone to use and track Apple airbag?
Will it work using a MacBook?

its an ok last resort dog tracker (aka better than nothing) since it requires another iPhone to be around the airtag to be found.

You know of it at a better price, either now or historically?

Makes sense for multipack to have better value, but what about for any number < 4?

I got this on a whim for my wife and she lost her money purse while returning a few Christmas gift. Used the airtag to locate it. So it's actually a good buy. I should of jumped on the walmart promo last month. Don't know if it's still valid.

Historically, it's been $25 w/ free shipping: https://slickdeals.net/f/15493945-prime-exclusive-deal-apple-airtag-1-pack-24-99-free-shipping-w-prime?src=SiteSearch

BB doesn't offer free shipping unless your order is $35+.
