My Amp is in my house and I ran speaker cable down to my pool. even at 200' of wire the system does its job. And yes it connects to whatever streaming service you use. I put an old alexa down by the pool and made the sonos amp the audio so I can just say "Alexa, play music and we have sound down by the pool.

Same place you'd put any other amplifier or receiver. I recon most folks put it inside since it's not water resistant. You'd need a waterproof enclosure and a power source to leave it outside. But you can control it via app or voice assistant, so there's no advantage to having it outside, unless it better fits how your yard is wired.

You don't need a receiver because it works with all of these [sonos.com] streaming services. It also works with Alexa, Google Assistant, and Apple Airplay. As I said above, voice control or control via app. So you can control it from wherever.

If you want to use a receiver for whatever reason, you can because it has RCA inputs. Or you can use them for a record player or Aux. input. It also has an HDMI input for audio from ARC and eARC compatible TVs.

Fantastic deal. I haven't heard these particular speakers, but Sonance is quality custom install gear. As someone else noted, the Sonos amp itself sells for $700 and doesn't go on sale a lot.

You would need an external speaker switcher (additional purchase and has to be located somewhere convenient). The Sonos Amp has no built-in ability to switch on/off a second pair of speakers (only has one set of binding posts).

This is an incredible deal. FYI it says backordered and Sonos Amps were a hot ticket during the chip shortage earlier this year (and ongoing). No telling when you'll get this. I had to buy this package at full price just to get my hands on an Amp earlier in the year.
