Right now:
BJ's (25 min drive) is $2.99. Lines aren't ever too bad.
CostCo (20 min drive) is $2.99. Lines are terrible.
Shell (13 min drive...to the cheap one that I always frequent in my area) is $3.25. Less $0.10 Shell comes to $3.15 (used to be -15c...ugh T-Mobile). UpSide gas is anywhere from 3c to 15c (depending on day and time). When we had the run on gas from the New Orleans plant shutdown, it was 0-1c. On a great day I can get 20c. Last night when I went it was 7c, although last night they were out of gas because of the possible incoming snow storm (DC area). I went to the other shell down the road and it was also $3.25 and Upside 3c (the two stations are always the same price, just the former always has a bigger discount with Upside). I had a $0.20 promo last night thanks to a referral bonus, but that is not common. Problem is that UpSide deducts 3c if you use Shell Rewards, so that 3c will become 0 and 7c becomes 4c. So on paper, yes $3.11 (former with 4c upside) is worse than $2.99, BUT, I always pay with Shell gift cards that I accumulate from Best Buy on deal, where I'm getting 10% off. So that $3.11 becomes $2.79, which is better than $2.99, although with Credit Card cash back it is really $2.90, but still...its better. And all that money I spend at Best Buy goes towards my Elite level status. I just loaded up on $450 in cards. I'm set for a while (gotta get yourself a non-denominational Shell GC so you can load up the balance on to a single card).

Using your math above:
Premium would cost 3.49 after jumping through hoops for 20 gallons?
Plus the Fuel cost and time to go to Best Buy
Shell 80 Gallons Premium $296.06
BJ's 80 Gallons Premium: $271.20
My stores:
BJs gas (can get 10cents less per gal with BJs Mastercard)
2.99 regular / 3.49 Premium / 3.09 Diesel
Shell
3.39 regular / 4.19 Premium / 3.59 Diesel
Now I'll start getting tons of auto advanced ad crap to my emails and mobile numbers 🤦 ♂️

Since I no longer have the physical AASS card and could not determine my AASS account #, I entered my AA login name. It was early, and I was tired when I did this. I vaguely remember entering my physical FR card # and PIN (also from the FR card) somewhere also. However, I cannot remember for certain if it was for this or some other promotion, as I was looking at another promo also this morning. However, the link was completed and an additional $0.25 FR were added. The new Loyalty Card link for AASS seems to show my AASS acct #, so I saved that for future reference. Couple hours later, redeemed all my FR during a Shell 20 gal fill up. Relatively easy additional $5 saved.
Glad to see some useful FR promos. IIRC, 2018 & 2019 holidays I racked up huge FR buying Amazon and Shell gift cards at Shell convenience stores during those promos. I have also accrued smaller amounts of rewards over the years initiating online purchases by clicking the participating vendor links available at my FR account page. Mostly Home Depot, Zoro, and Vitamin Shoppe purchases. Those FR are not instant and may take 2-3 months to show up in my acct.
ETA
IIRC, my AA & SS accounts were merged years ago. I do not know if this happened automatically, or I manually merged them.
