I feel like there needs to be a sequel; since, the question of why the engineers wanted to destroy Earth was never answered.

This is one of the most gorgeous looking, well shot movies in the history of film, topped off with a phenomenal performance by Michael Fassbinder who literally steals every scene he's in.

And thus ends everything nice I have to say about the movie.

It's visually appealing. Some awesome action too. Story is pretty good too.

Some stupid things don't make any sense like removing your protective gear because air has oxygen in it like earth. As if these "astronauts" never heard about infectious deadly bacteria/virus/fungi.

This movie makes Alien 3 and 4 look like best picture Oscar winners.

likely you have some digital credit
My $2 digital credit made it $0.99 for me. Maybe it was a flash sale.

I really liked it despite the stupidity of the characters. Movie was all about David and Michael Fassbender was awesome.

I didn't like Alien Covenant as much but I will watch anything related to Alien.

This is my favorite movie in the alien franchise
This one and the one after is NOT part of alien franchise. Ra ra ra.. can't hear you........

I'll sum it up for people: Billionaire spends billions of dollars on a mission to save his own life and hires the Marx brothers as his crew. Hilarity, slapstick and domino-falls ensue.
You mean, DONUT-falls..

Well I googled it and it said that Prometheus was the 5th installment of the alien franchise. What other movie are you referring to?

I know I may be in the minority but I loved this film and the sequel, Alien Covenant. They did not do too well at the box office so they scrapped the original plans for a third installment.

I think this film aims very high for the philosophical themes, but as other have mentioned, some of the sci-fi terror bits are easy to poke holes in the logic. If you can suspend your disbelief and just accept the movie as it is, they did an excellent job of making an entertaining movie. And Michael Fassbender is great in his dual roles.

Agreed, both are good films. They are departure from the original gritty uber-realism of Alien and Aliens. But they still deliver the same sense of horror and wonder.

If you haven't seen it and like the alien movies, you're in for a treat. It's fun to think of what ifs, and this movie does that

Just finished season one of Raised by Wolves. WTF did I just watch. Raised by Wolves is basically another Prometheus story but based in a "cousin" universe. Ridley Scott calls it a cousin of the series.

It shows how far Ridley Scott is willing to take things without anyone saying "No".

It's really one of those shows that you say, 'nobody should watch this nonsense', but then at the same time you feel 'everyone needs to see how insane this gets'.

I have it on Blu-ray. Before that, I would think about this movie non stop. I wish scientists previewed the movie for Ridley Scott, before showing it to the public but I still love it despite it's unscientific, and illogical actions. If he needed to keep the idiot scientists in the movie, there should have been someone there with the voice of reason, who did the exact opposite.
