On my account I am paying $12 for the Plus Plan add-on.

T-mobile rep said Plus Plan add-on does not qualify for phone promotion for Max plan or premium plans. Not sure if he was correct on that. Also, he said 20% discount does not apply to Plus add-on. the people wanting new phones can't trade in theirs because they still have eip with t-mobile for another 6 months so...

I'm confused… I'm currently one the essentials plan and my bill is 200-250 total with like 6-7 lines.. how much would I be paying extra or saving if I change it to magenta max assuming I can get the 20% code?

Assuming no free lines, 6 lines on Magenta Max is $260; after 20% discount it would be $208 taxes/fees included. 7 lines on Magenta Max is $290; after 20% discount it would be $232.
This is with the autopay discount. I'd try to switch over if I were in your shoes.

Magenta Max line costs are:
line 1 is $85
line 2 is $55
lines 3-8 are $30
lines 9-12 are $40
