Must be between 21-86 and live in the US. Must have an iPhone 8 or newer. Must wear daily for data collection, perform a series of cognitive surveys. Download the app and perform the questionnaire along with a cognitive test to qualify. After the test, you confirm your address and they send you the Apple Watch SE. It took about a week after finishing the main survey. And I just received it by FEDEX. Apple Watch SE 44mm Space Gray. I was not given a choice of which watch I wanted.

You can read more about it on their website. Or search the App Store for Intuition.

Be part of Intuition: a brain health study
Intuition is a virtual research study sponsored by Biogen, in collaboration with Apple, for participants between the ages of 21 and 86. By joining us, you can help researchers investigate the role an Apple Watch and iPhone could play in:

Measuring changes in thinking and memory in adults
Studying longer-term changes in brain health – some of which may occur normally as we age, while others could be an early indicator of certain forms of dementia, such as Alzheimer's disease
This study, therefore, may be an important step toward better understanding overall brain health.

Save a few bucks on a low-end I-Watch and get turned into a zombie. Elon, is this your baby?

Anyway, in for 10...

"Your participation will last up to 2 years."

"keep the Apple Watch you receive if you earn enough points by completing activities during the study"

possible they will bill you if you don't complete the study over 2 years.

It sounds like you will have to return the Apple watch if you don't get enough points.

A little more information on the study: https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT05058950

Here's the thing: if you want to crap on this because you think you'll have to return the watch, fine. (You almost certainly won't have to though.) If you want to crap on it because you simply don't want to spend the time to participate, fine.

If you want to crap on it because you think Big Bad Government Man is suddenly going to have access to something that they don't already have backdoor access to, then frankly, I think you're already too cognitively impaired to qualify for the study.

Studies like these are immensely helpful for researching some of the most horrific neurological disorders we have. Anyone who has cared for a person with severe Alzheimer's or dementia, for example, will know how awful and heartbreaking those diseases are, and should be grateful that there are people willing to help in the ongoing quest to better understand and eventually treat them.

Thank you for this post OP. Having a parent with dementia and being one that works in the technology world, I am glad to see these type of incentives to gain insight into this disease.

So I didn't qualify, but how valid is the study if people are going to lie for the sake of getting free watch?

So once you do qualify, how long before you received the watch in mail?

Only way to qualify seems to be to lie about having cognitive impairment?

Do NOT do this survey! They ask you all these questions. get ALL of your personal information Force you to create an account....and then after you do all of that, they do NOT qualify you. However I bet they spam the hell out of your email account!

I signed up and qualified. There is a final step that you take where it's a bunch of memorizing shapes and stuff. Several different variations and challenges to do. It gets increasingly difficult. It should be interesting to participate. All in all I qualified and was able to choose the 40mm or 44mm watch.
