A MIT study found that 300mcg is about the equivalent of what our bodies naturally produce and is thus more effective. You may notice less residual grogginess and side effects with the lower dosage. 3-5mg is way more melatonin than we should be taking in a night yet that's the easiest to find. (Melatonin is dirt cheap, so it doesn't cost much more to sell 3mg capsules.)

Look up andrew huberman on youtube and listen to all his podcasts on sleep. Hes a stanford neuroscientist professor and has a ton of incredible and helpful information on everything health related including sleep
