Not try to argue, but just want to provide more info.

The article you cited are from 2005, so kind of old (considering that people even try to check whether melatonin will help with COVID/Cancel...). Here is a relatively recent article https://health.clevelandclinic.or...ghts-rest/ mentioned "Recommended doses of melatonin are from 0.5 mg up to 3 mg, which are adequate to promote sleep or treat jet lag."

While NCCIH has a summary article (https://www.nccih.nih.gov/health/...-to-know), but did not provide a recommend doses.

Anyway, side effective is unclear

The dosage for this product is very high.

A MIT study found that 300mcg is about the equivalent of what our bodies naturally produce and is thus more effective. You may notice less residual grogginess and side effects with the lower dosage. 3-5mg is way more melatonin than we should be taking in a night yet that's the easiest to find. (Melatonin is dirt cheap, so it doesn't cost much more to sell 3mg capsules.)

Great price. I like to split these into thirds because the whole 3mg makes me feel groggy in the morning.

These at 3mg made me sleepy all the next day, where Unisom 5mg acts faster and doesn't make me sleepy the next day. I tested Unisom for a few months, ran out of those and tested these for a month, went back to Unisom.

I take 1mg sometimes and works well for me. Avoiding caffeine, except for the early morning, helps also. These higher doses, especially for smaller people, can cause drowsiness the morning. Instead trying to cut these into smaller doses, buying the 1 mg is more convenient and still inexpensive (under 5 cents a pill). Good deal if you need the higher 3 mg pill.

Great deal, however, I don't recommend it. 3 mg is overkill (was for me) and time release is the name of the game with melatonin. Without time release, I'd be aroused in 4 hours and find it difficult to go back to sleep.

Not really agonizing over sleep, not even having issues falling asleep, but sometimes waking up feeling unrested/sore; I started on the 5mg ones from Costco, and OH MY GOD. Like a light switch. Feeling fully rested in the morning and actually able to get up right away. Guess I didn't know how it was supposed to feel like all along.
Will probably downgrade to the 3mg once my supply runs out, so picking up this deal. Thanks OP.

For those saying 3mg is way to much. 3mg doesn't do anything for me.

The dosage and effectiveness varies from person to person. For myself, 3mg to 6mg seems to depend on how tired I am for the day. Don't let the amount determine whether it is helpful or not.

Not really an expert on sleeping things but I tried the Celestial sleepy time tea and it worked great for me. Plus I don't really feel groggy when I wake up or anything. Plus it's cheap

This will prevent your body from producing its own full amount of melatonin naturally.

Look up andrew huberman on youtube and listen to all his podcasts on sleep. Hes a stanford neuroscientist professor and has a ton of incredible and helpful information on everything health related including sleep
