Ok, so I finally thought I found a game all three of my kids could play together... so please tell me i didnt just waste $40 because the only way Ive been able to accomplish this is to BUY another online membership and download these... um.. not so great custom builds from NOT nintendo developers that my kids HATE playing together... so is there NO way for my kids to play the actual game together??? If so will nintendo give me my money back?

Where did you buy it from? Most vendors will NOT give refunds on digital orders such as this one.

Are they all on the same physical switch? Just make other local user accounts on that switch and you're all set. Don't need to buy anything for that.

If you're on multiple switches you can get it to work on two switches at once with a single digital purchase, but that's the limit.

i remember reading this game does not have local multiplayer. Is it listed on the bottom of the eShop page as supporting up to 4 players and the description is not clear that they cannot be local. If you bought it from Nintendo they might refund you.

Seems to be a lot of confusion about multiplayer on this game. When playing created levels online, as long as the creator allowed for multiplayer when they created the stage, multiplayer is available on a single switch. My kids play stages together all the time. I do not believe you can play the story mode multiplayer, though. Hope this helps.

As long as you have the online service, this game is absolutely awesome. Endless replay capability. My kids started playing this two years ago when they were six, and they have been playing it ever since. Great for two player co-op. Great for young kids. Highly recommended as long as you are willing to pay for the online subscription.

Looks like in Wii U:
- Can overlap pipes (horizontal pipe going over a vertical pipe)
- Touch screen interface interactions
- Can organize design grid

In Switch:
- Higher resolution
- 16x9 (instead of 4x3) aspect on certain game modes?
- Less intuitive design mode when they revamped it for using controllers
- Top tool bar only shows most recently used items
- Can create sloped surfaces (big request from original)
- Large coins
- Boom boom brothers, Angry sun, other enemies
- On/Off buttons, Snake tracks
- You don't have to gamify to unlock all the tools for creation
- Combined underwater/land worlds
- New Mario theme / physics

Pulled these out of this video (there was a lot more): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zc2Urt-Kj8M
You can use the Switch's touchscreen on handheld mode.

Seems like Amazon is offering the physical copy for the same price.
