A later model iPhone for basically $200+ tax is a good deal imo. Having to wait 6 mo. To have it unlocked not so much.

There were Total Wireless XR deals for around $215, which were then traded in Best Buy for T-Mobile postpaid deals on Samsung S21, iPhone 12 / 13 etc. Best Buy currently values this iPhone 11 64GB at $500 for T-Mobile trade-in purchases.

The $120 spend is unavoidable and requires someone to stay on Cricket, and now that you cannot downgrade the plan you will be forced to pay for the next 4 months if you want to stay with Cricket and unlock it through them.

Unlike Metro, you have to use this phone on Cricket for 6-months to unlock. So, that's a minus.

TL DR; deal is worth for those who are planning any trade-in deals and if they have a port eligible number.

So I jumped on this deal and after placing the order. I got the confirmation email with order number. But soon after that, a second email from cricket canceled my order saying" We were unable to verify the information you provided, so we have canceled your order."

Anyone knows what's the reason for it? Thanks.

The plan cannot be downgraded? Where is that written? I thought you could go down to the cheapest plan right away and the $120 would go longer than 2 months.

It was true for the SE deal back on Dec, I assume that the same applies to the iphone 11

I can confirm that you cannot downgrade to a lower/cheaper plan after activation. I've tried it a couple of times without success. If you are able to get a helpful agent to override the system and downgrade Cricket would eventually flag your account for 'fraudulent' moves. Cricket has implemented red flags to deter customers from taking advantage of deals. They could even refer your account to their security department for investigation.
