WARNING: I have been trying to get Total to release my sons cell number to transfer to another carrier since mid-December 2021. We finally gave up and activated his phone with another carrier and got a new number. Several emails, phone calls, and chat sessions have gotten me nowhere, no real person ever returns the call and messages to cancel the service are not fulfilled. I have resorted to deciding to just report the charges as fraud on my credit card and documented the contact attempts. If you want to keep your number, I'd stay away from them. The service was marginally okay for a teenager for the price but personally I would have been very upset to have to change my number. The service is still active and not cancelled.

I do see many people asking about unlocking policy.

Well as per the new policy after take over from Verizon in November,Tracphone has updated its unlocking policy for apple devices to be 60 days post activation if activated after Nov 23rd-2021

That said,I have reached to multiple customer care rep and have even called and the fact that it gets unlocked after 60 days is something they all echoed but there was difference on if it active service or just first month of activation. There is no proven way until Jan 23rd to see when this first set of deals got launched to see how it goes.

The unlocking policy does mention it will automatically unlock after 60 days - But if some one or most of the folks trading in should not have a problem .If you plan to keep this phone for a longer run and use it I would activate the service for the second month to avoid any hassle in pushing Customer rep to unlock .As i did call out we will have to wait to see how it actually works. Its an additional $20-$22 to get some total wireless prepadi cards on sale or deals.

In the worst case if this not does not get honored we can still encash for trade in or other options to sell this for cash.

Any one with still having doubts on the unlock policy can contact customer care for their satisfaction before they jump in - however as i mentioned its more of waiting game as I did realize it was not consistent reply.

I bought 2 of these and they were in great condition.
That's awesome news! Thanks.

Yea, they really suck with ports. I cannnot explain to you the nightmare I had tryign to port my moms phone in from the last time this deal popped up....I eventually just gave up and now she's carrying around 2 phones for 2 months....paying the minimum amount on redpocket to keep her phone number open until they unlock the phone. I really want to switch out my xs max that's cracked in the front and back with a bad charge port....so taking my chances doing the same for myself......not even gonna try to port my number to them this time.

I ordered 1 last month. The Apple warranty had expired about 5 weeks earlier. The handset itself was in flawless condition.

Over the last year, I have ordered a total of 3 iPhone Xr handsets from Total Wireless.
1 was new-in-box. 2 were reconditioned. 1 of the reconditioned models had 8 months remaining on the Apple warranty.

My experience with Total Wireless has been excellent.
In my experience, the phones themselves are great.....customer service and their porting process can be a nightmare though.

Based on their policy, yes, but no one has done it yet. Don't know if ATT $800 promo will be good in 60 days. Based on Total Wireless, you don't even need to have the second month service. The phone just can't be unlocked prior to the end of the second month or 60 days.

I got in on this deal before Xmas, the phone came to me as if it's new with 100% battery capacity.

For those who placed order, if you want to check if your order goes through, go to ups.com, choose lookup delivery by reference number, then feed it the order number. If tracking number is shown, your order has been released to their refurbished product vendor for shipping preparation.

My wife was porting out from Pageplus to Mint Mobile….nothing after a few hours of waiting.
Occurred to me to call Pageplus to "release" her number for porting.
The porting went through a few minutes after the phone call.

Got this last month. Used RSIM (took many tries with the one I got from Ebay) and got it working on T-Mobile.

I have too many phones (bought 3 SE 2K) that I bought for family members or else I would get another one. It was in mint condition.

From which seller you bought RSIM. Bought two times in eBay and both didn't work (connected RSIM and still shows sim not found). Any tricks to be followed?

If it's a new line with new number you should get pts (added in 60 days if you don't make any changes).

$400? You mean for the s21 if so it is reduced to $390 now for the xr. Btw BB only allows tradein of same phone for max 5 quantities for a 12 month period.
