Interesting, that's a possibility. Also could be a difference in some gaskets used during the refurb process, I suppose. Was hopping for something a bit more definitive, but oh well.
Correct. It's too many variables. Remember there are many makers for screen, aftermarket or not alike. Not even OEM parts have super consistent color temperatures.

Yeah, maybe my yellow-tinted one has an OEM screen and it's the *shell* that's not OEM, lol.

Yeah, but I was really hopeful that the thicker screen thing might be the key we were looking for. I had seen it mentioned before that aftermarket screens were often thicker and that would make perfect sense since making ultra-slim electronics costs so much. I also did a little more looking and these articles mention that aftermarket screens are generally about a half millimeter thicker, which seems about the difference we were looking at. I don't know … hopefully something becomes more clear once more data comes in.

These iPhones are capable of all networks (they just come with TW Verizon LTE sim because that's what Total Wireless uses).

Multiple folks have done v and confirmed that they had no issue in dealing with trading in for a gift card of Apple .. just ensure you activate phone .. remove the plastic and give it as used

Got the iPhone XR delivered a couple of days ago. The screen seems wobbly and it looks like third party screen. Does anyone have this issue?

Once you pay for a phone, you own it and can do with it anything you want, including trading it in.

How is it illegal? You are purchasing the phone outright from TW and it is accepted as-is by multiple places for trade-in... BB, Gamestop, Apple, Trademore etc.

Mine arrive today, so fingers are crossed. I sent 3 via the new "drop off and have Fedex pack" process. I think they stopped sending out boxes because people weren't returning enough of them.

Also, one of mine had the more blue tint screen, so we'll see what happens.

I did .. all accepted

Why are you saying that these phones have after market parts… why would they do it… such an act would create bad name to this company

The original screen will cost like $150 to replace in local repair shop or $290 at Apple Store. 3rd party screen just cost $50 at local shop. OEM Battery will cost like $50 at local store or $79 at Apple. Aftermarket battery is like $8-10 on eBay. I would go with oem parts if possible.
It seems it costs more to refurbish these with new screens and batteries and labor cost than what they're selling them for.

How many did you send in? If my 3 are a go I might get a couple more to offset the 13 Pro Max I'm buying.
