Received an iPhone XR with a couple very faint purple spots on screen. Anyone knows if that will be an issue for tradein in future (e.g. Sprint/Tmobile) ??
I'd go with BB to GS as you get value right away and walk away with cash(ish)

Ok, for everyone that still has a lot questions. Here is another thing I can share. I attached the pictures of the 3utools report Before i took the XR to Apple and the report After I got the phone back from Apple. You can see for sure the battery serial number has changed and screen number is changed since Apple reset it back. After I got the phone back, I am getting Face ID not working message, True Tone not working and Battery message. So, use it as your own risk and just draw your own conclusion.
Is 3u tools an app that can be DL from app store to check all this info ?

one of mine is yellow screen with raised corner at bottom right
BEFORE activation
i think it is a/m screen
Keep in mind that many or maybe even most have probably been at least opened … batteries were likely replaced in a lot of them since everyone is showing 100% battery life. So signs that it has been opened doesn't necessarily indicate an aftermarket screen. Also, the yellowish tint (softer white) generally seems to be more associated with OEM screens while harsher / bluer whites are more often considered to be signs of aftermarket. But there are still a lot of variables. I wouldn't make any assumptions just yet.

In my case, my phone was 100 score in 3utools before I took to Apple. No way I can spot anything and thinking it has 3rd party parts at all. I was just as happy as most people thinking it's like brand new phone. Until I took it to Apple and Apple repair center found all out and erased everything.
at this point we have plenty of data points to almost confirm that the refurbisher has reset all the iOS tools that detect am parts so that iOS cannot detect them like @SlySol has mentioned previously

I've also updated to 15.2.1, but no parts and service history section under setting, about, they both came with iOS 14.7, one was activated in May, one was in Aug. Is that mean they were not modified? Battery is also 100%
all this does not mean anything anymore
refurbisher has reset everything like SlySol has mentioned in their prior posts

So I got another. Looks mint. Went to Ebay and got someone's referral code and used it after I activated to join the rewards program, got 6000 points so that's good for another 2 months. So I think with 3 months I should can get this unlocked easily. Does anyone know if I have to keep the sim card inside at all times and keep the phone on?

I know you have one uneven corner, which may hinder comparison, but does one of your screens appear to be thicker overall with a bigger bezel gap like the one on the left in this post?

The only ask to get xfinity $100 is to port in the number. It is visa gift card which can be used everywhere.

From what I understand, that shouldn't matter that the sim isn't in the phone as long as it's activated.

Did you see anything about not being able to use points for a couple of months? I thought I saw something like that in one of these threads. I just set up an account, so may try the referral thing as well if it will extend the service and can keep in service until I make sure it's unlocked.

Rewards points need to be on an active account for 60 days before they actually get added to your balance.

Thanks, I thought I had seen something like that. Probably not much point trying to get points then if not planning to keep the lines past 60 days then, I suppose.

You can also redeem for $ off phone purchase, but you need a hefty balance.
6000pts = $50 off, 11,000pts = $100 off, 14,000pts = $150 off
TF might be a little different, I got a free SE2 using pts as well as a refurb Galaxy A20.
Free stuff is pretty good.
