Most replies in this thread, and other threads this one has links to, talk about the condition of the refurbished XR phones. Does anyone have experience with TWs refurbished SE (2020) phones they can share? Or point me to a thread that mentions refurbished SEs?

My SE 2020 (Total Wireless) from this past summer was in as new condition, had 6 months of Apple warranty remaining (get free Apple TV too) and battery was 100%.

I would go with Target SE deal for $250 +$150GC back. It is guaranteed brand new iphone se.

When you reply to a post here, you should see a little paperclip icon in the menu above the reply box to add attachments. From there, you can click it and choose pics and then upload button in the tab that opens. Once uploaded, you can go back to the main reply box tab and submit. At least that's how it works for me … might vary somewhat depending on the device.

Thanks for the pics … yeah, that little extra thickness or gap around the bezel may be a good clue for an aftermarket screen.. The difference seems enough that people may even be able to tell by comparison from your pics, assuming that all the refurb screens are slightly thicker like that. The bezel gap on the left is several times larger than the one on the right. Hopefully others will weigh in.

It says you need to activate it with the $35 airtime card to get the $150 GC. Is the $35 airtime card included in the $250 price? If not, that will make the total $185 vs $122, about a 33% difference. And while I do shop at Target, I don't consider gift cards the same as cash saved in hand. But regardless of GC vs cash saved, I was looking to get the white phone as well, which only includes a $50 GC instead of $150. All that added up and I decided to try my luck with the refurbished one.

Looking at his pictures, I think there's a possibility that both of his phones are aftermarket displays. I'm just speculating here but look at his second picture and how you can clearly see the white boxes for the categories and how their edges are clearly visible. In contrast, look at this video: https://youtu.be/I0Y6-j7Qge4?t=19. There are boxes but the right and left sides are not visible. They seem to blend into the phone. One of my phones looks like one in the youtube video (the whiter one), and the other has the boxes that look like his pictures. Also, I tried changing font size to see if that would have an effect on the box edge visibility which it did not. But when trying to change the font size, I noticed I had trouble with the sensitivity of the digitizer of the darker/yellower one.

Makes no sense from a product point of view. The SE 2 is a more powerful phone in the same iPhone 8 body. The SE has the touch ID home button and fits the same cases.
