Upgraded to iOS 15.2.1 and checked for Parts and Service History under Settings > General > About. As there was no Parts and Service History, the battery is not a replacement. Any battery replacement, whether genuine Apple or third-party, would show up in the history.
For XRs (unlike 12s or 13s), screen replacements will not show up in the history. A visual examination of my XR doesn't show any obvious evidence of screen replacement.
Posted by another user, FYI: For those who are wondering if you want to do a return, Yes you do have to pay return shipping if it was delivered to you. If you refuse the package you will not have to pay return shipping. For returning, USPS(Postal Service) First Class with tracking or Priority mail recommended but UPS and Fedex should work as well. (ALWAYS make sure you get tracking on your package or it can complicate your return and or cause a return to "have no evidence of arriving")

Trade-in Options (From asianman35, Post 1156):
1. trade in to best buy for $190 gift card
2. trade in to apple for $200 gift card
3. trade in to gamestop for $210 credit or $168 cash
4. use to trade in with your carrier (sprint seems to be a great deal right now)
5. activate and hope that it unlocks after 60 days? some people are saying this wont happen since these have been activated on totalwireless already (hence theyre refurbs).

Well as per the new policy after take over from Verizon in November,Tracphone has updated its unlocking policy for apple devices to be 60 days post activation if activated after Nov 23rd-2021
That said,I have reached to multiple customer care rep and have even called and the fact that it gets unlocked after 60 days is something they all echoed but there was difference on if it active service or just first month of activation. There is no proven way until Jan 23rd to see when this first set of deals got launched to see how it goes.
The unlocking policy does mention it will automatically unlock after 60 days - But if some one or most of the folks trading in should not have a problem .If you plan to keep this phone for a longer run and use it I would activate the service for the second month to avoid any hassle in pushing Customer rep to unlock .As i did call out we will have to wait to see how it actually works. Its an additional $20-$22 to get some total wireless prepadi cards on sale or deals.
In the worst case if this not does not get honored we can still encash for trade in or other options to sell this for cash.
Any one with still having doubts on the unlock policy can contact customer care for their satisfaction before they jump in - however as i mentioned its more of waiting game as I did realize it was not consistent reply.

Did you have to keep active service for 60 days or only the 1st month?

Do they say 60 days in one place and 90 days in another? Wouldn't surprise me, they often have conflicting info & I thought I had seen 90 days when I bought a phone before.
Edit: oops, I just saw that you had the same clip I put below … I originally thought you had a 60 day warranty quote. It's late, lol.

"All reconditioned or refurbished phones sold by Total Wireless (except iPhones) have a ninety (90) day limited warranty as do all wireless accessories sold by Total Wireless.
New Apple iPhones are covered by a one-year limited warranty offered and administered by Apple. Please visit apple.com for more information.
To the extent available for purchase, refurbished iPhones and certified pre-owned phones are not covered by a limited warranty but may be returned for a refund within 30 days of purchase."
There's 2 different sites. The "except iPhones" is concerning, sounds like no warranty at all if Apple says no, only 30 day return with lots of return/restocking fees?
Why do they make everything so hard to understand?
I'd file with CC & see what happens - they never responded to my PayPal request, & full refund went right through (I received an empty box).

EDIT -
this is page I get when searching for total wireless recertified warranty - & it says 60 days:

this one is under terms and conditions, so 2 different policies, no clue which one is correct but this one says iPhones don't have 90 day warranty?

Followed the "instructions" on the listing page, but they are confusing, and I couldn't get it to unlock.
Lycka till.

I usually leave them on airplane mode and so far they haven't drained fast.
I did notice with an XR that was on wifi and NO SIM card inside that the signal bars would keep scrolling as if looking for service.

I got iPhone 11 (New) and XR (Reconditioned), both of them keep in the drawer with wifi and Bluetooth on. iPhone 11 drops 1-3% and XR 20-30% overnight.
The worth case is just spending an extra $69 for the battery replacement at Apple, if more than that I may return it to TW.
