Why in the world would you do that? unless you're planning to use those cards to buy something other than iPhones.

I'm trading mine for an iPhone 13mini, best buy is giving $390 for the XR.
The mini and regular 13 are 100 off now making them 599 and 699 respectively.

so I only have to pay an extra $210 or $310 to move up to a 13!
The Best Buy deal is great if you are on T-Mobile but a lot of people are not on T-Mobile.

I'm not on T-Mo but I signed up for their $20 Talk & Text package (only available in store or via phone or chat) for a month to get on this deal. I then unlocked using the AT&T SIM trick. Even paying the extra $20 it was a great deal.

I was told I had to have service for 90 days and since it's postpaid would require a credit check.

It may have been a general answer from the sales guy.

The credit check makes sense since it would be a post-paid plan. Is the 90 day true?

Thanks

You have to go to a store and sign up for the $20 T&T package to avoid the activation fee. Within 24 hours you should be able to order the phone from Best Buy and do the in-store pickup. This is definitely the cheapest path to a new iPhone but it requires a little more leg work if you are not already on T-Mobile.

Others have decided to order 4 of the TW XR phones, trade-in with Apple, and then buy a new iPhone 13 direct from Apple. Using this method, the total cost for a new iPhone 13 would be around ~500 plus taxes. This method doesn't require you to leave the house.

try it in airplane mode and see the outcome.
You know what's strange, I have 2 brand new iPhone SE 2nd gen from the cheap cricket deals.
I charge both at 100% and then leave them on airplane mode, one drops 25-30% overnight, the other 20%
Both brand new devices

2nd gen SE battery life is bad.
Using the airplane mode from 10 pm to 7 am, the battery still drops 12%. Took the. screenshot and ready to go Genius bar tonight. Frown

be prepared for them to possibly deny the warranty if it has aftermarket battery or screen

I canceled my plan at the end of 30 days without any issues.

You'd have to do it in-store because you need to activate the SIM before doing the upgrade transaction. It can also sometimes take a couple of days for the activation to get updated in T-Mo's system so Best Buy can see it.

If the warranty is denied, I might request RMA or return to TW.
At least, I can figure out what's going on.

I'm buying something from apple. I already did the iPhone deal with T-Mobile so don't need any more phones.

Once you get the sim in store you then need to load the sim in another unlocked phone before doing the trade-in, right? I have a sim I got from t-mobile that is active but on the best buy website you need to type in the t-mobile phone number and verify a text code when completing the order. If you don't have another unlocked phone, I don't think you can get pass this step.

If I port out the total wireless number, will the phone still be unlocked after two months?

Unless they give you QR codes to take your phones to Fedex to be packed and shipped, like here... not sure why they won't just send boxes like they did before.

That's correct - you would need to activate the SIM in an unlocked phone before proceeding to do the trade-in on the Best Buy website.

I got sent boxes, maybe it's a region thing.
