So is it possible to activate with a Verizon post paid SIM? Perhaps a silly question but I'm curious. My end use for the XR is going to be a present to my dad who uses Verizon.
We are talking about BB phone not TW iPhone XR. For this TW XR, it's locked to Tracfone which may not work with Verizon SIM. Not sure if it's changed as TF is owned by Verizon now. You can try it.

When I got the shipping notification, I clicked on the 'activate' button in the email. Is this all that is needed to start the 60-day countdown clock, or do I have to actually turn on the phone and make a call?
You should physically activate your SIM as well . I have seen that technically while you activate based on IMEI the actual phone number gets c active only after you switch on your phone. Others might share their feedback just sharing what I observed

PSA for guys with new reconditioned XR's or SE2's.
For factory unlock I suggest you guys keep service for the 60 days to get a factory unlock.

But for those of you that just need it working now and don't plan on resetting it till you sell/trade it.
the nyturbo sim has worked for me.
FYI, apple just released 15.3 the iccid/imsi on their site isn't working with 15.3 it was last working with 15.2.1.

For those of you who updated to 15.3 and trying to unlock with a nyturbo card use this iccid:
89014103270421602061 and 301041000000000(till zero stops) I've confirmed it works on 15.3, just did one literally moments ago. My TMO sim is working with no sim restrictions.

I'm sure this will help someone out, so you're welcome.

You bought up a good point.

Anyone got their order actually shipped using those unofficially generated codes?
I did use a unofficial code to purchase Iphone 11 on last Sunday and already received the phone on Wednesdays

So seeing that people were successful getting their XR's unlocked after 60 days, I saw someone mentioned that it's possible to get "free" refill cards via points.

I checked around my account seeing that it was expiring in 3 days, low and behold.
You get 7000 points for adding a new line!

bought 6 phones, 3 I am trying to get unlocked, 1 will be traded and 2 were given away.

so...

I activated my second phone on my existing account and behold it added 7000 points, that's good for almost 3 refill cards at 2500 points each!
I have a 3rd phone and wonder if adding it will give me an additional 7000 points!!??

I tried to redeem the refill card using points but looks like the points are in pending status, not sure how long it takes for them to become available.

But if it works you could potentially fulfill the 60 days requirement without have to spend another penny! Applause

your account has to be active (paid) for 60 days before you can use the 'pending' points.

Would I need to pay for a 3rd month to keep the line active if the points are given after 60 days?

So you can't just activate with the 25 dollar/ 30 day plan and then wait out the 60days for an unlock ?

Just a data point: XR traded in with Apple for a $200 gift card. Mailed in, no issue

The account is NOT marked active until the SIM card in the phone activates it. You should be able to see that on your TW account dashboard. So basically you need to boot up phone with sim and wait until it says it has been activated.

60 days till you can redeem them so until 2nd month passes you won't be able to use them. Another line should add 7K as well (not sure what's the max limit of lines you can have on same account, maybe 4). After paying for one more month though (30-60 days) and once rewards get credited you should be able to cancel/remove extra lines to keep fewer ones being able to use rewards for payments longer without paying actual $.

According to this link, it says + 7,000 points for every additional line and doesn't mention a max number of lines. However, I'm a bit concerned about the 60 day requirement. If they verify-and-post points on the 61st day and you've just let it lapse, could that make you lose the points? That's something I'd like to see confirmation on before taking it for granted.
