Did anyone receive an updated unlocking policy via text?
I just got one today.

They added a few things including "If you have not met the required minimum period of active TracFone service, TracFone may unlock your device, but you will incur a charge of up to $300, depending on how long your service was active prior to the unlocking request."
They sent that when I activated a month ago, it's just generic cut & paste from the unlock policy, not anything new or updated.

got the same text, read through it, nothing different from what I read last time.

but at least it says phones will be "automatically" unlocked when eligible, so means 60 days as long as we keep service should be good!

Several early reports that it wasn't automatic, users needed to call unlock dept & then phones unlocked. Maybe system will work better as more people reach 60 days & the glitches get fixed.

Only real question is if requirement is 60 days of consecutive service or not.

Good question, seeing that it's prepaid service people and stop and continue service as they please.

I plan on keeping 60 days of consecutive service on 3 of my lines, I will be at 30 days tomorrow, already bought 1 refill card and it shows 1 card in reserve, I guess it will automatically burn it once my 30 day service expires.

I see that there's a checker at the bottom of the unlock policy page, I tried mine and obviously wasn't eligible right now, will try again at 60 days.

I did add the 2nd line and it added 7000points (signed up for rewards prior). But people said the points can only be used at 60 days.

if I had known I would have waited till after the 30 days on my first line to activate the second line that way I can use points to pay for the 2nd month of service on the next phone.

oh well I will add the 3rd line tomorrow once I hit 30 days, so I can renew it using points on that one at least.

.
Note that the 7000 bonus points only applies to additional lines added in the first 30 days.

"Member must activate a new line and add it to their Account within 30 days of activation."

Edit: Actually, that may just mean that you have 30 days to link the new line to your account after that second line is activated (in case you don't link it immediately). So that may work after all. Let us know if it still gives the extra 7000 points that way.

Thanks for the link

"Member must activate a new line and add it to their Account within 30 days of activation. For points to become available to use, new line must remain active for 60 days after adding it to account."

The way I'm reading this is for every new line that is activated it must be added to the account "within 30 days". Not within 30 days of the "initial" main account.

Correct me if I am mistaken, if possible staggering activation will allow me to use points for the 2nd and 3rd phones rather than pay $25 for each for the 2nd month of service to qualify for "unlocking".

Yep, I realized that after I posted and updated it. That would seem to make sense. Hopefully that works.

So there is no one reported the xr or new 11 as unlocked yet? Thanks for keeping us updated!

Only reading about conflicting stories, someone posted that someone on HoFo (howard forums) reported that it automatically unlocked, while I read here that they had to contact total wireless customer support.

Either way it is looking good that it LIKELY will get unlocked.

No one posted their personal account whether they got theirs unlocked on here as of yet.

I make 60 at the end of Feb so you guys will definitely hear from me when that happens.

So if iphone unlocks on day 60, this would also mean all their other phones would? Including their cheap reconditioned $20 phones?

Just sharing my experience from Walmart Black Friday deal where I bought phone on Verizon network. I disconnected Verizon plan within 3 days and kept phone as is. Post 60 days, it was unlocked after restart. Hoping same will happen for TW XR.

Verizon is different from TW and since TW was recently acquired nobody knows how EXACTLY they will implement the unlocking process. It will be nice if they follow Verizon's way though.
