honestly speaking, since a lot confirmed here that the replacement battery is from sunwoda, which is an official Apple battery partner, I am thinking even we do have some replacement parts such as screen and battery inside, we should not be that worried

A legitimate refurbish company with a decent scale, should have some quality control on parts to be qualified to co-operate with TW. It is NOT a one-time game there

those cheap replacement screen sold over ebay or amazon is far inferior, which you can tell with phone powered off that it is like grey when looking at an angle
The one I got rejected by Apple/Phobio for trade-in was gray and had a thicker bezel, glue etc. Definitely a hack job with inferior parts. I'm just glad they didn't reset the part serial numbers so I could trade in to GameStop, even though they did scratch the screen noticeably.

Is that purple or dark blue? I think I got that one. So far phone seems to be good.

Did anyone confirm if the second month payment is needed to get the phone unlocked after 60-days? I may have to pay as I have about 8000 points pending. As long as phone unlocks after 60-days, I should be fine.
I called the stickers from my pic purple, but some may be calling them dark blue, so I'm not sure if there is another actual "dark blue" color. Not enough input to draw any conclusions so far. And we're still waiting to see if it unlocks without a second month of service, as others have mentioned.

I haven't seen anyone confirm that the battery was Sunwoda by actual physical inspection, but rather that software says it is. However, the refurbishers actually clone the component serial numbers to get around the Apple aftermarket part alerts. Thus, software will only report what that cloned serial number correlates to (whatever the original Apple part was). Also, there have been reports of multiple versions of screens and some seem to be very good while others not so much. They may even be sourced from multiple refurbishers. They aren't Apple refurbs, so it seems to be the luck of the draw to some extent.

Mine were all Dark Blue/ Purple even the one with the DIM replaced screen.

so I don't think the color dots theory holds any water, just speculation, the sample size is too small.

Who really knows the colors really mean, could be indifferent of quality.

No one knows if second *paid* month is needed yet. The majority of us who bought at the earliest was Late DEC, so 60 days makes end of FEB, we should know in about 2.5 weeks.

I paid for the 2nd month while others did not, so it might just require a valid activation and full 60 days to unlock or require 60 days of paid service... Can't confirm or deny yet.
Fingers crossed. I was planning to make use of those points by buying another XR, but as it is not in stock, I may go for the SE2. And if unlocking works after first month of payment and keeping phone aside, I will have a good use of those points with another used phone.

My renewal is up in 10 days, so will plan to refill.

nah, 15.3 works you just need to use a different iccid.

from their site:

enter iccid:89014103270421602129(check update above)
Enter IMSI code:31041000000000 (enter 0 till the end)

I already unlocked an XR on 15.3 using the code above.

there's no need to downgrade, glad it worked for you but just saying...
Can I use R-SIM to unlock a new phone If I never activate it by the carrier's locked sim? Where can you find the latest updated ICCID & IMSI? Is these "soft-unlock" thing affect the automatically unlock if I do a reset before or after 60 days?

you can use R-Sim to do the same thing as the white nyturbo card.

you just need to be able to modify the ICCID and IMSI fields.

rsim5.com or www.nyturbo.com has the latest info.

cmd99.com is another one.

If you soft-unlock before the 60 days, it won't affect your permanent unlock, however if you do a restore on your phone that was soft-unlocked and it's not unlocked by TW or the Carrier it will just re-lock again.

If the phone was unlocked by the carrier after 60 days then it should stay unlocked after a restore or reset.

This is because the lock/unlock status is maintained by Apple on their servers based on your imei#.

Thank you for your explanation, but I still have a little confused. Let's say if my new phone needs to wait 60 days to be unlocked by TW. I soft-unlock it on day 1, then I do a restore on day 55, will the phone still be permanent unlocked by TW after 5 days? Or the time for permanent unlock needs to be count 60 days again? I still worry if I use something like R-sim to soft-unlock my phone, TW can track my sim info through the IMEI , which means they know I'm using another carrier so they may refuse to permanent unlock my phone after 60 days, is it possible?

Absolutely no one can tell for 100% sure what would happen. We don't have that many data points for this 60 days thing to start with and you are asking all these specific detours with absolutely no documented case for reference.

If you don't want to screw it up I'd say just be a good boy/girl and activate it and leave the SIM there 60 days. Or you can be the first data point for these specific cases you asked.

Anyone randomly get the line from these phones cut off saying "We have a detected that this is not the same phone originally activated and used for your wireless service in order to restore your service you need to put the sim card into the phone used when you activated the service" when trying to place a call

I haven't seen anyone mention it, but others have reported that the SIM is tied to the phone, so that would make sense. I assume you used the SIM in a different phone? How long was it used in another phone before you got that message?

nope, pics taken with 6pro yes, but that was from trading a 4xl from T-Mo deal a few months ago.

I did however trade 2 XR's and 1 SE2020 for 2x 13minis and 1x 13 pro Max.

I have too many phones lol...

Several of us have been warning that this has been happening for months.
Sim is linked to original phone at activation & VZ is now paying attention when it's used in a different phone. It's YMMV if you put activated sim in different phone, never know when they might freeze service.
