Upgraded to iOS 15.2.1 and checked for Parts and Service History under Settings > General > About. As there was no Parts and Service History, the battery is not a replacement. Any battery replacement, whether genuine Apple or third-party, would show up in the history.
For XRs (unlike 12s or 13s), screen replacements will not show up in the history. A visual examination of my XR doesn't show any obvious evidence of screen replacement.
Posted by another user, FYI: For those who are wondering if you want to do a return, Yes you do have to pay return shipping if it was delivered to you. If you refuse the package you will not have to pay return shipping. For returning, USPS(Postal Service) First Class with tracking or Priority mail recommended but UPS and Fedex should work as well. (ALWAYS make sure you get tracking on your package or it can complicate your return and or cause a return to "have no evidence of arriving")

(Updated)Total Wireless/Tracfone brand Unlock Policy:
For Customers with Apple devices:
- TracFone will automatically unlock the device when it becomes eligible for unlocking.
- For all Apple devices activated with TracFone prior(Before) November 23, 2021, the device will be automatically unlocked after 12 months of active TracFone service.
- For Apple devices activated with new TracFone service on the Verizon network on or after November 23, 2021, the device will be automatically unlocked 60 days after activation in the absence of an indication of fraud.
For Customers with non-Apple(ie: Google Android/other devices) devices
- TracFone will provide an unlocking code to customers who request unlocking, provided they meet the following conditions:
- If the TracFone device was activated with TracFone service prior to November 23, 2021, then the device must have been active on TracFone Service for no fewer than 12 months with Service Plans redeemed in no fewer than 12 months, and not have had their telephone number recycled or ported.
- If the TracFone device was activated with new service on the Verizon network on or after November 23, 2021, then at least 60 days must have elapsed since the device was activated.
- The device must be in working condition.
- The device has not been reported stolen or lost, and there are no indicators of fraud.
Deployed Military Personnel:
- If you are a TracFone customer in the military and receive relocation orders outside of the TracFone Coverage Area, we will unlock your device at your request, even during the applicable lock period following the activation of your device.
- All other eligibility criteria apply to TracFone's customers who are deployed military personnel.
- Customers are eligible for this program only once every twelve months.
**Note: Not every device unlocked from Tracfone/Tracfone brands are 100% compatible with other carriers(iPhones typically but not always being an exception). Make sure and check with people here and or Tracfone for info.

Well as per the new policy after take over from Verizon in November,Tracphone has updated its unlocking policy for apple devices to be 60 days post activation if activated after Nov 23rd-2021
That said,I have reached to multiple customer care rep and have even called and the fact that it gets unlocked after 60 days is something they all echoed but there was difference on if it active service or just first month of activation.There is no proven way until Jan 23rd to see when this first set of deals got launched to see how it goes.
The unlocking policy does mention it will automatically unlock after 60 days - But if some one or most of the folks trading in should not have a problem .If you plan to keep this phone for a longer run and use it I would activate the service for the second month to avoid any hassle in pushing Customer rep to unlock .As i did call out we will have to wait to see how it actually works.Its an additional $20-$22 to get some total wireless prepadi cards on sale or deals.
In the worst case if this not does not get honored we can still encash for trade in or other options to sell this for cash.
Any one with still having doubts on the unlock policy can contact customer care for their satisfaction before they jump in - however as i mentioned its more of waiting game as I did realize it was not consistent reply.

Sim is linked to original phone at activation & VZ is now paying attention when it's used in a different phone.
VZ requires IMEI for all TF/TW sims so simply swapping causes issues. Even if phone has been unlocked they will still require IMEI registration to match phone.

Lost the TW plan but already had plenty of TF time so didn't need it. Have done it that way before & got phone unlocked after the yr requirement.
I assume after 60 day unlock yours can be activated on TF as a BYOP phone so you will need to activate after unlock using a $1 BYOP sim kit & register the IMEI using new sim.
but I do have 3 that I activated and currently online waiting the full 60 days to unlock, didn't want to mess anything up so made sure no sim swap switchero happened there.
It's interesting to see if people who had that message "We have a detected that this is not the same phone originally activated and used for your wireless service in order to restore your service you need to put the sim card into the phone used when you activated the service" will get their phones unlocked???

Being a long T-Mobile customer, I know for a fact that they do say that 40 day requirement is needed to unlock (though people have been able to get around it through t-force).
But again, don't know if they count actual "time on the network" though I know they do check the logs to see what phone was associated with that number. I know when I call in they ask (is this the iphone XXX on line ending in XXXX etc.).
Question is, for these XRs, at the end of the 60 days, it sounds like an automated process, the system checks that there was no flags (no idea what those flags might be) and automatically generates an unlock request to Apple? In which case does inserting the sim into a different phone cause a flag? (policy states "no indication of fraud") however you interpret that...
At least for me I'm not taking that risk with the phones I want unlocked I'll just leave the original sims in and wait the full 60 days lol. I have plenty of other phones I can use in the meantime.

I just want the plan service for the 30 days I was forced to buy when I purchased the XR from them lol, though I have no need for it I'll prob give it to a family member to play with.
On another note, T-MO finally succeeded in unlocking an iPhone XS Max I purchased a year ago from Walmart out of contract. This was an issue for me since "Flex policy" phones lock to their first carrier sim upon activation. (wasn't aware at the time).
Asked them (tmo) in the past if they could unlock it, but they always failed saying unlock denied, phone not sold by them...Someone on here, in a different thread said they were in the same situation but got it unlocked and try a different rep. Well, I guess I got lucky this time, this rep was good and he got it unlocked for me this time!
Sim is linked to original phone at activation & VZ is now paying attention when it's used in a different phone. It's YMMV if you put activated sim in different phone, never know when they might freeze service.
