You do not need to reset the phone.

It should be:
- no reboot require, or
- reboot require, or
- put in a different SIM

Tried several unlock recently with this 3 situations
Thanks for the info. I bought my refurb XR at the end of December. But didn't pay 2nd month. Hopefully all goes well at the end of feb and I can input my T mobile SIM card in without issues.

Mine was new phone under the new 60 day policy & auto unlocked at 61 days with no assistance.
No way to know if it will be as easy for others since so far most reporting on Howard Forums TF threads have had to contact unlock dept to get it completed. Just haven't been enough phones unlocked yet, should know more in 2 weeks.
But did you pay for the second month is the question?

obviously still in service at 60th day, would have been called out at the 1st data point in the entire internet otherwise.

As I said just a few posts before this:
"Phones activated after 11/23 are being unlocked, but so far all have had at least 60 days of service."

I thought most of the data points on Howard Forums stated they had like 1 year of service or a prexisisting plan. IMO this data point is helpful for me at least. So you are saying you signed up for 30 days, renewed for another 30 days and at 61 days (so service is deactivated) your phone got unlocked?

Edit: FYI this is for a new phone - which is what I'm asking about (not a refurbished phone).

Out of curiosity, does anyone know if / when TW rewards points expire? Let's say I keep my account active for over 60 days so that the referral points clear (no longer pending status and are available to use). If I then let my account lapse at some point, will the points still be available for use? And if so, how long would they last? Anyone have experience with that?

Pretty sure account needs to be active to use rewards, I wouldn't recommend letting service expire.

Ugh, that's too bad. Was hoping to just bank the points and hold off until another good deal comes along, but who knows when that may be. I may still give it a shot, but it may turn out to be a bust if I have to keep burning through points to keep it continuously active.

You might be OK but you never know these days -

All points you have earned will be forfeited if your Account is inactive for sixty (60) or more consecutive days. You may be eligible to keep your Points if you reactivate your Account within sixty (60) days following the forfeiture of your points.

Ah thx, that looks promising. Might be able to extend them a bit like that anyway.

There seems to be a bit of a grace period (I want to say a week or two? I wasn't keeping too close an eye on it.).

But yeah, the points do get wiped out if your account becomes inactive for too long.

Is that official policy?

Mine got wiped within a couple of weeks.

Copied off website. I think somewhere else it says account has to be active - they often have conflicting info, never know what to believe. That's why I don't trust them & always say everything is YMMV. Just to be safe I wouldn't let account expire if I wanted the points.
