Upgraded to iOS 15.2.1 and checked for Parts and Service History under Settings > General > About. As there was no Parts and Service History, the battery is not a replacement. Any battery replacement, whether genuine Apple or third-party, would show up in the history.
For XRs (unlike 12s or 13s), screen replacements will not show up in the history. A visual examination of my XR doesn't show any obvious evidence of screen replacement.
Posted by another user, FYI: For those who are wondering if you want to do a return, Yes you do have to pay return shipping if it was delivered to you. If you refuse the package you will not have to pay return shipping. For returning, USPS(Postal Service) First Class with tracking or Priority mail recommended but UPS and Fedex should work as well. (ALWAYS make sure you get tracking on your package or it can complicate your return and or cause a return to "have no evidence of arriving")

Trade-in Options (From asianman35, Post 1156):
1. trade in to best buy for $190 gift card
2. trade in to apple for $200 gift card
3. trade in to gamestop for $210 credit or $168 cash
4. use to trade in with your carrier (sprint seems to be a great deal right now)
5. activate and hope that it unlocks after 60 days? some people are saying this wont happen since these have been activated on totalwireless already (hence theyre refurbs).

Well as per the new policy after take over from Verizon in November,Tracphone has updated its unlocking policy for apple devices to be 60 days post activation if activated after Nov 23rd-2021
That said,I have reached to multiple customer care rep and have even called and the fact that it gets unlocked after 60 days is something they all echoed but there was difference on if it active service or just first month of activation. There is no proven way until Jan 23rd to see when this first set of deals got launched to see how it goes.
The unlocking policy does mention it will automatically unlock after 60 days - But if some one or most of the folks trading in should not have a problem .If you plan to keep this phone for a longer run and use it I would activate the service for the second month to avoid any hassle in pushing Customer rep to unlock .As i did call out we will have to wait to see how it actually works. Its an additional $20-$22 to get some total wireless prepadi cards on sale or deals.
In the worst case if this not does not get honored we can still encash for trade in or other options to sell this for cash.
Any one with still having doubts on the unlock policy can contact customer care for their satisfaction before they jump in - however as i mentioned its more of waiting game as I did realize it was not consistent reply.

Mine got wiped within a couple of weeks.
In my TW account, there are records of all earned points, but aren't reflected in the balance.
In my TF account, the records disappeared one day, never to be seen again.
Yes, I stayed for over 60 days and the points were no longer pending and showed up as "available" in both accounts.

I lost 39,000 referral points in one account. I fought them all the way to BBB to no avail.

1/22 & 1/23 orders still shows processing. Disputed both with my CC already.
you guys won't get the XRs.

Nothing here yet. But at this point I don't expect anything. As long as I get my money back (through dispute), then nothing is lost but a little bit of time.
Good luck on your SE2 order.
First week of December, I created a Tracfone account and ordered a Tracphone SE along with their $25 plan. I will be activating this phone and plan this week since my son's Redpocket plan expires later this week. I intend to stay with Tracfone as long as necessary to unlock the phone and might move to another carrier (redpocket or mint) after unlock.
I also have a Total Wireless XR that I have not activate yet. The intent here is do what's necessary to unlock it and keep it as a backup/travel phone.
Questions:
1. Do I have to activate the Tracphone on the account it was ordered or can I create a new account and activate on that account?
2. What's the best sequence of steps to maximize points? I am told that I can use a code while activating a new phone on Tracfone and I get 8000 points(?) after 60 days.
3. Should I activate the XR on Tracfone as well? Can I? Will that give me additional points? If so, when should I activate it for optimal points harvesting?
4. When can points be used to buy minutes?

Long winded answer but should help people out there with questions.
1. In order to get bonus credits for activating a line, it must be done on the same MVNO account. What I mean by that is, Total Wireless and Simple Mobile, while they are sister companies do not share account info. You cannot sign into Simple Mobile with your Total Wireless account and vise-versa.
I think the reasoning behind this is because these companies ride on different Carrier networks and originally had different polices before they merged is what I suspect.
Simple Mobile uses (T-Mobile) Total Wireless (Verizon), and Straight Talk used to be (AT&T), though that might have changed with the Verizon acquisition.
you can sign up for either Total Wireless or Straightalk if you buy a phone from Walmart.
For those who are curious, when I looked up my imei for my "Simple Mobile" XR it showed "Locked Carrier: US TracFone / StraightTalk Locked Policy"
This makes sense cause you can interchange sim cards from any of the sister MVNOs and they follow the same 60 day unlock policy.
When I looked up my TW XR it showed the same exact locked carrier info.
2.After you create an account on the total wireless site, you go to myaccount there is an option to "add a line" there you can add a "total wireless phone" or Bring your own Device" sim card activation.
Either option should give you the 7000 bonus points.
BTW I lost 7000 points by messing around with the sim cards, I had bought 2x iphone 12minis from black friday, but never activated it. I did out of curiosity put in a sim card from one of my XR's that I had activated then traded in.
What do you think happened when I tried to activate the 12mini for real?
So apparently it registered the phone as an activation with the XR sim. (showed up in other devices)
So when I officially activated the phone it didn't give me the 7000 points.
The other phone that I did not mess with DID give me the 7000 points.
So just a word of caution, if you want to get points for activating a new phone don't insert a TW sim from a different phone into the "New" phone before you activate it officially.
3. I had 2 XR's that I traded in and 3 awaiting unlocks, for the ones I traded in I activated them before I traded the device in, in order to get the 7000 bonus points.
There are other ways to get points as well, and I recommend you do them cause they are easy, there's a daily scratch off, and spin the wheel, watch a video, puzzle game, etc that you can earn easy extra points.
4. At 60 days all your pending points will be available to redeem, ( is what I am told, have not gotten to 60 days yet.)
At which point you can use 2500 points for extend your service for 30 days.
If you have multiple phones like I do I staggered the activation so that I can use the points to renew instead of paying extra $25.
BTW 17000 will earn you $200 off promo code, so if you want to get an iphone 11 for cheap this would work out great if you can accumulate that many points. I will try when it allows me to.
