Read reviews on Amazon. Seems like you get what you pay for. There is a small chance a blade can eject and cut your leg...

I have a bunch of the 40v stuff and while it's not the same as gas of course it does the job for a homeowner for sure

I had Green work lawn mower two years back, I used it like 5 times before reselling it.
I guess mine was 40V and it was seriously underpower it hardly cuts any grass taller than 2" plus the battery wouldn't last till I complete the lawn and note that my lawn is normal Texas lawn probably 10-12K sft area
Since this is 80V I guess it has enough power to cut the grass.
Not sure on battery life.
My recommendation is to get extra batteries. If that needs it for the last one quarter of the lawn and the run out of battery.

This is the older model, I have the same but not SP. Good mower overall, my only complaint is that it does not have much vacuum or "pick up" power compared to my 5.5 HP gas mower. Not as good for mulching leaves, etc.

As far as the deal goes...meh...last year they had the 60V SP version for $159 with a 5Ah battery and charger. The mowers are identical except for the battery platform (bought one for my GF).

I bought this last summer. If you mow every 2 weeks, your machine may not be able to handle. If you do once a week, the machine works very well, but one battery is only good for like 0.2 acre of land. I have 0.4 acre of land so it is kind of inconvenient because I have to split the work into 2 days.

I use this 80v self-propelled mower along with matching weed whip and backpack blower. I am able to manage 10,000 sq ft of turf, mowed, weed whipped, sidewalks blown off on a single charge of 4 amp hour battery.

My battery and charger are from 2015 still too, for sake of longevity.

Sounds like we have most of the same tools. I have a 2 and 4 amp battery and an average size lawn.

I'm looking to get this John Deere 190 rider out of my garage. Was awesome when I had an acre to mow. Not the 15k sqft. Thank you!

One 80v battery. Greenworks has 40v, 60v, and 80v lines (all using different batteries). I have their 80v snowblower, leaf blower, and multi-attachment trimmer. It has much more power than the 40-60v, and super fast recharge (about 30 min). No experience with this mower, but for the price I am considering it!

I have this mower and I recommend it IF it matches your lawn size and mowing needs. Amazon history says I bought it for $294 this Spring. I already had batteries from other Greenworks 80V stuff. The smaller batteries I had were only the 2 AH ones -- they worked in this but for longer sessions you'd want the larger size battery. I didn't mind getting to take a break and as mentioned in another post, the batteries do charge very quickly in the 80V charger.

I found it had enough power even for taller grass. If mowing taller grass, you should use the side discharge so it cuts and ejects the grass quickly. Don't try to "mulch" as that is only for frequent routine mowing. The same would be true of a gas mower. This is a very solid machine compared to a lower-end 40V 16" cut one I bought on clearance before.

Of course you need batteries and a charger, so this ideal is for those that already have at least one or two batteries and charger. Sometimes Amazon or others have promo deals bundled with a battery + charger. There were some Greenworks promo deals last year for 2-packs of batteries, so I bought a pair of 4AH batteries which will be plenty to run this thing for longer if I really want. Of course the 2 pack of those batteries cost about the same as this mower deal, and that was a good sale price....
